WayV Reaction ✧ Them stealing your first kiss
✧ WayV all members x gn!reader ✧ genre: fluff, reaction ✧ warnings: mentions of alcohol consumption
Kun:
you’re spending a nice evening at his place, cooking dinner together and then planning to watch a movie or maybe listen to some music together
you end up having a lot of fun cooking and somehow the things you don’t like doing are things he enjoys and vice versa, so you complement each other well
needless to say, you make a great team in the kitchen, working together in a way that makes cooking even more enjoyable to you
he doesn’t know what got into him when he ends up standing right behind you to teach you a more effective way to chop up the vegetables in front of you
but suddenly you feel his lips brushing against your cheek, and when you turn in his arms to make eye contact, you find yourself being kissed by him
panics when you tell him it was your first kiss, but you’re quick to laugh it off, assuring him that you liked it
returning the peck to his cheek, you get back to work, smiling to yourself like an idiot
Ten:
does it on purpose
you’re out at a party, having fun and drinking
when you’re both a bit tipsy he’ll pull you to the side, away from the people you were talking to just a moment ago
you think he just wants to have a quiet moment with you, or maybe ask you to dance
but then he’ll suddenly stand very close to you, hand brushing against yours
he’s your boyfriend after all, but you haven’t been dating for long so he looooves seeing you flustered
until he leans in and you freeze, feeling him pressing his lips against yours for a short moment
“Th-that was my first-” you stammer, trying to explain yourself
“Oh, sorry. Should I give it back?”
the cheeky grin he gives you leaves you even more flustered
but who are you to say no to that?
so when he leans in again, you let him, sweeping you off your feet with the way he passionately moves his lips against yours
Winwin:
he’s sooo so sweet about it all
takes you on a date to the park or a café you both like
plans for it all to be perfect and sets the mood just right
you have a lot of fun during the hours you’re out with him, and while talking you don’t even notice how time is passing
when you’re about to say goodbye, he initiates a kiss by leaning in just a little bit, stealing glances at your lips
when you don’t step back, he connects his lips with yours
the kiss is sweet and chaste, and it makes you feel very warm inside
however, when you whisper to him that it was your first kiss, he’s shocked
stammers an apology and panics
only when you reassure him that you’re really okay with him being your first kiss does he relax
you give him another peck on the lips to put an emphasis on your words, and then you finally say your goodbyes for the day, leaving him already looking forward to the next time he gets to kiss you
Xiaojun:
you and Dejun haven’t been dating for long, and in order to impress him you decide to plan an entire day with just him
you decide to spend most of the day at an amusement park, going out for dinner afterwards and then inviting him to your home to watch a movie and chat a bit
however, when the big day comes, it’s pouring with no end in sight
still having hope, you change your plans and do something else instead, but then when you go to the restaurant, the waiters tell you your reservation didn’t go through and they don’t have a table left for you
basically everything goes wrong that could go wrong, and Dejun tries to cheer you up by buying you takeout food
so as you’re sitting on your couch, about to eat, he suddenly leans in to kiss you, whispering that it’s okay and he still had fun with you
you decide not to tell him that it was your first kiss, and instead you just thank him, kissing him back
Hendery:
you were supposed to hang out at your place and have fun together
however, just before your date something just had to happen to ruin your mood
so when he finally arrives at your place, you’re very distracted and can’t quite enjoy yourself
of course he notices that, and he gives you some time to speak up about it yourself, but when that doesn’t happen he decides to take matters into his own hands
“Let’s make out.” - “???”
explains that since you seem down, that would be a good distraction between lovers
waits patiently while expectantly staring at you until you agree, positioning yourself so he could kiss you
and so he does, making out with you for quite a while until he’s sure you’ve forgotten all about what ruined your mood in the first place
however, when you confess to him that that just was your first kiss, the shock on his face is apparent
suddenly he regrets it, very unsure if what he just did was okay or not
but as soon as you laugh at him for it and decide to keep kissing him, all his doubts are washed away
Yangyang:
you’re on the way home from your first day trip together as a couple
you both had a lot of fun, so you’re in a good mood, and Yangyang offers to take you back home so he could ensure you got there safely
he drags out the goodbye at your doorstep a bit, continuously biting his lip and looking around nervously, so you already have a hunch what he’s hoping for
“I had a lot of fun with you today, and… can I kiss you?” he finally asks
you smile at him, nodding, and as he draws near, you close your eyes
he’s a bit clumsy because of how nervous he is, but once you figure out his rhythm and kiss him back, he relaxes
“That was my first kiss, by the way,” you mutter as you part, thinking that maybe you should’ve told him that before he kissed you
however, he just gives you a proud grin, raising an eyebrow at you
“Oh really? Then how about I come in and we practice a bit more?”

get it right [c.y.j.]
Choi Yeonjun, the cute barista at your local café, just can't seem to get your name right. It's not until Christmas that he lets you know why.
➳ Characters: barista!Yeonjun x female!reader/you
➳ Genre: fluff, romance, uni au, café au
➳ Words: 1.8k
➳ Warning: mentions of food (let me know if there are more)
➳ A/N: This idea has been in the back of my mind for so long, but it wasn’t supposed to be Christmas-themed. I hope you enjoy it nevertheless! ❤️
Choi Yeonjun was a menace. An annoyingly handsome and a blushingly flirty menace. He was also the cute barista at the local café you frequented, and he just couldn't seem to get your name right whenever you ordered coffee to go. Sometimes your name was missing a few letters or the letters were switched, but there were times when the name scribbled down on the plastic paper wasn't even close to your name.
There was no way Yeonjun couldn't remember your name because you were a frequent customer, and because he actually initiated conversations with you while he was making your drink. Since you usually got yourself a coffee in the morning before you headed to uni to study at the library (because there was no way you could study in the dorms, your roommates weren’t exactly a fan of you studying so early in the morning), there weren't a lot of people coming into the café at such an early hour, but Yeonjun was always there. Since it wasn't peak time, he was the one who got and made your order, but in the afternoon, when there were a lot of visitors buzzing around, one barista received your order and another one made your drink.
You were in luck, it seemed, that you did have some time to speak to him while waiting for your drink because he was a fun company. Maybe a bit too flirty for his own good, but you guessed that he was like that with everyone else, too. Not until your best friend, Yoojung, actually went to your favourite café for the first time, did you dare to think otherwise.
"There's no way he's like that with everyone. You see, there were some girls in front of me outright telling him how handsome he is, and he didn't flirt back! Also, I got only a smiley beside my name on the cup," she reasoned as she held up her own cup of coffee, proving her point. "And you say that you have hearts beside your name. I don't think that's a coincidence," she pointed out with a mischievous smile as she smacked your side.
"No, how can it be? He can't even spell my name right," you shook your head, but you had to admit that you were less sure about being just an ordinary customer for the boy. Could it be that he liked you? No, no way. He was just so cool, friendly, easy-going and still caring, he must have liked similarly cool girls. Not that you had low self-esteem, it's just that you were more on the introverted side, you were sometimes searching for the right words to say, and you were blushing so hard whenever he complimented you, it was wild to imagine that he might like someone like you.
"Well, maybe he's doing it on purpose," Yoojung mused out loud, resting her head on her arms propped up on a pile of books. With her, a study session never stayed just a study session, and ever since you dared to bring up Yeonjun in your conversations, she was always waiting for the updates.
"What purpose?"
"I don't know. I don't get boys."
"But you have a boyfriend," you pointed out, and Yoojung couldn't help but laugh. Him and Hendery getting together was one of the surprises of last semester, but it's not like you couldn't see the sparks. It's just that your best friend was in denial about her feelings towards him, and she couldn't take the boy seriously either.
"Hendery is a different species," she rolled her eyes yet it was in an affectionate way, and there was a certain degree of gentleness in her tone.
"Anyways, let's get back to game theory," you suggested as you flipped a page in your textbook. Your best friend grunted in response.
"Aaah, your cute barista is waaaaay more interesting than game theory."
The next time you went to the café, you tried to see if something was different in the way Yeonjun acted with others and with you. However, due to the early hour, there was only a businessman in his 50s in front of you in the queue, and he didn't flirt with the man.
"Hey there, my favourite customer!" He greeted you gleefully though, and already got a plastic cup ready.
"Whose name you still can't spell right," you teased, but there was a smile in the corner of your lips. Yeonjun faked being hurt by your words and theatrically placed a hand over his heart.
"You're still my favourite customer though."
"Alright. I guess that counts."
"It does. Not even my friends can have this title," he explained with a mischievous smile as he leaned forward, lowering his voice as if it was a secret. Though you knew all too well that some of his friends didn't even drink coffee, there were some who attended universities far away from his workplace and the others didn't frequent the café as much as you did.
"Anyways, I'll take the usual," you let him know, trying to shush Yoojung's voice in your head.
"Cool. We have a buy one, get one free discount today, so you can have two. Will you take the same for the second?"
"Well, what's your favourite drink here?" You inquired, genuinely curious. It was no surprise that he already knew your order by heart because you ordered the same pretty much every single time you came here (even on days it wasn't his shift in the morning, but the other baristas didn't know your favourite order like he did). So you were actually interested in his preference.
"Hmm I like iced lattes, but it's getting colder these days, so I usually go for a caramel frappuccino with lots of whipped cream," he explained in his usual enthusiastic voice, and the simple joy of talking about his favourite drink (or rather, you asking about it) made you smile widely.
"Then, make me one of your recent favourite drinks," you decided, and he giddily got started on it while asking about your tests coming up. Winter break was only a few weeks away, so you had a lot of studying to do for your exams, but by waking up early and going to the library to study, you were already working on it.
When you got your order, both of the cups had your name misspelled, but both of the cups had little hearts on them, too. You cracked a smile before taking your usual order and pointing at the other one:
"It's for you. Hope you have a great day!" You wished with a wide smile, and before Yeonjun could protest, you were already outside of the café. Through the windows though, you could see the boy's face lighting up as he reached for the drink and took a sip from it, content.
Well, he always made your days, so it was time to pay him back.
Yoojung, as expected, faked gagging at your gesture towards the boy, but it seemed so right in the moment. Not to mention that your best friend was even more sure by now that the boy liked you, but you weren't that sure, and it would be awkward if you misread the signs because you were such a frequent visitor at the café.
However, as you neared winter break, and you talked about going home for the holidays, you couldn't help but notice Yeonjun's lips curling downwards. You asked if he was working during the winter break since you knew that he was from around here, and he said that he was off for one whole week, but he would get back to work afterwards.
"I might be meeting friends here in early January, so I might come by," you blurted out, and it seemed like such an unnecessary piece of information that you almost told him to forget about it. However, seeing the boy's bright eyes and insanely wide smile, you didn't mind doing so.
"Really? That's cool. I'll be here anyway, you know," he tried to shrug it off coolly, but he was fighting contentment painting his lips. He looked so happy, your heart did little somersaults at the sight.
"Can't let your favourite customer miss out on coming by for weeks," you joked around, and he joined you.
"Can't let you not have your daily dose of Choi Yeonjun," he winked at you before he turned around to reach for the milk bag, but as he was pouring it into your cup, he looked up, suddenly alarmed. "Wait, is this your last day before going home then?"
"Yeah, actually, it is," you nodded, and suddenly, you realised that you didn't know what to say or do. It's not a goodbye after all, is it? However, you were coming here almost every single day for the past few months, and Yeonjun had become such a solid part of your days that you had a feeling that you would miss this, that you would miss him.
"Oh, I see," Yeonjun mumbled, uncharacteristically solemn. You got a message on your phone at this time, so you looked at it, writing back to one of your group project partners, telling her that you would be at the library in 15 minutes.
When you put your phone back into your coat's pocket and you reached for your drink, you automatically took a sip of it. You let out a content hum and Yeonjun smiled affectionately.
"Merry Christmas! Don't miss me too much," he winked at you, dissolving the earlier serious atmosphere, and you smiled back at him, thankful and a bit bashful, too.
"Merry Christmas, Yeonjun!" You wished, albeit a bit bittersweet, and there was an odd feeling taking over you as you made your way outside of the café.
As you lifted the cup to your mouth, you noticed more words than just your name on the side of the cup, and you halted in your steps to get a full view of it.
"It's my number in case you miss me too much, y/n!
P.S.: I know your name, I just wanted to have a reason at all times to talk to you"
Smiling, you immediately typed the number into your phone, sending Yeonjun a message. He replied almost instantly, teasing you if you already missed him. To which, you said that maybe you did.
After that, there was nothing that could put an end to your texts, and soon enough, you found yourself on a date with him in January because Yoojung was right; Yeonjun truly did misspelled your name on purpose.
A/N: Merry Christmas, everyone! Even if you don’t celebrate it or don’t enjoy this time of the year for whatever reason, I hope this story could bring you some joy. ❤️

WayV Deep Dive: What Counts As K-pop?
WayV is one of four subunits of the enormous group that is NCT (NCT Dream, NCT 127, NCT Wish, and WayV), specifically, their Chinese one. They’re in a bit of a complicated spot, since they’re technically both a Mandopop band and a K-pop band, but for our purposes, they’re k-pop. They’re considered 4th generation, as they debuted in 2019, with seven members: Kun, YangYang, WinWin, Ten, Hendery, Xiaojun, and Lucas, the last of which left the group in 2021.
Here are my credentials: So, I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with NCT, if we’re being honest with ourselves here. I’m a big fan of NCT Dream (and considering going to their tour this year), and I hate almost every one of NCT 127’s songs. Sorry in advance. I know some of the members of WayV, Ten and YangYang, from their show on Dive Podcasts, but besides that, I don’t know the members. I have no idea what my opinion of WayV will be, but maybe they’ll help me decide my thoughts on NCT once and for all.

Hi, I saw that you open for a request~ So maybe could I request a 43 + 56 + 106 smut for Hendery? Hopefully you want to answer my ask. Thank you so much!!💖
i'm pretty sure this is the longest thing i've written for a request and it's mostly bc i feel like hendery with kids is... <3 so precious
43. “I love it when you talk dirty.” 56. “I’d like to breed you.” 106. “These walls are pretty thick. Which means you and I can be as loud as we want.”
“Look at us... Getting our Vitamin D and all that.” Hendery’s shit-eating grin is as endearing as ever. “Mhmm. I’m very proud of us,” you respond, your fingers laced through Hendery’s, hands swinging while you walk. You’re just about to exit the park you’ve spent the past hour in–walking, talking, people watching–when you hear a tiny “Wait!” behind the two of you.
Hendery is already smiling before he turns around. He knows exactly who the tiny voice belongs to. “Wait hm?” He questions, turning around with a purposely exaggerated expression. He squats automatically to be eye level with his young friend. The little girl blushes and nods without explaining the reason for stopping you. Instead, she pulls a flower from behind her back, one she picked from the many sprinkled around the park. She places her small hand on one side of Hendery’s head and uses the other to place the flower in his hair on the other side. The bright smile when she finishes melts your heart. She is so proud of herself and she should be. Hendery looks even more beautiful. Who knew that was possible?
“Oh! Thank you so much, princess. You are so sweet, you know that?” Hendery praises her and starts to pose for her, modeling his new one-of-a-kind accessory. She giggles like it’s the funniest thing she’s ever seen and your eyes are swimming with Hendery-shaped hearts. He takes his phone out and starts to show her how to work the camera, requesting many pictures of flower prince Hendery from “the world’s best little photographer” and you spend that time reflecting on the rest of the time you spent with this young girl in the past hour.
You were sitting at one of the picnic tables across from Hendery watching as he carved his initials into the wood. He made sure they were sizable letters before adding “+ y/n” in the tiniest possible letters next to it. You felt a warmth radiating from your heart at the small gesture even if it was also a tease. He was just about to take a picture of his hard work when a bright-eyed little girl came bouncing over to your table. She wanted to show you both her princess doll, but it was clear she mostly wanted to show Hendery. He had a way of attracting people of all ages like that. Everyone wanted to interact with Hendery. He didn’t hesitate to give her his full attention, punctuating every turn of the doll in his hands with “wow” or “so pretty!” As if that wasn’t precious enough, you heard as he whispered to her, “You want to know a secret though? You’re the real princess!” Much to his delight, her cheeks flushed and she ran away with a charmed smile.
Moments later, she was back and this time she brought a book with her. She told Hendery it was her favorite and naturally he decided that meant he had to read it for her. He patted the spot next to him on the bench and opened the book to begin reading to her. She was enthralled the entire time, enjoying the way Hendery committed one hundred percent. Different voices, dramatic facial expressions, he gave her a performance. You watched with pride. He was so good with children and your stomach fluttered at the idea of seeing him with your own kids one day. If you could love him more, you did now.
Just before he got to the end of the story, the girl’s mom called her over to eat with the family. She pouted but did as she was told, looking over at Hendery from time to time just to smile at him. He always returned the smile, of course. So did you, even if you weren’t the object of her current affection.
After a while, you were both hungry too and decided to head home. That’s how you ended up here with a flowery Hendery and the sweetest goodbye you’ve ever seen. You snapped back to the moment because four eyes were on you, eager to show you the professional photos of Hendery. You enthused over the photos and thanked her for making Hendery so pretty only to be surprised when she pulled a flower out of her pocket for you too. It was a little crumpled but the gesture was more beautiful than a pristine flower. You tucked it behind her ear instead and suggested she show her family before saying your goodbyes.
You talked about her for a few minutes on your way home before Hendery got off track talking about birds then video games then food. It was always fascinating following his thought process with him. When you reached the dorm, he was debating between pizza and ramen for dinner. You walked inside with him, happily listening to every pro and con he could think of for both options, including which member would prefer what when they decided to emerge from their respective bedrooms. “What do you think?” He finally asks you, turning to face you as if he just remembered that a conversation involves two people. You smile and step up to him, fingering the collar of his white button-up. “I think you were very cute with that girl today.”
He beams at you. It’s one of the most brilliant smiles you’ve ever seen him wear. “Really?” He asks with a hint of hope in his voice. “Really. You’re going to be such a good dad, Hendery.” You believe every word you say. You know he will be. He chews on the bottom of his smiling lips for a moment and leans into you, surprising you with a passionate kiss. You feel dizzy as his lips press firmly into yours, his arm wrapping around your lower back to steady you as he tilts his head to snake his tongue into your mouth. You hum happily and let your arms loosely hang around his hips, returning every ounce of enthusiasm he pours into the kiss.
Hendery is not usually like this. He’s usually pretty obvious when he wants to be physical with you and he doesn’t normally devour you quite so quickly. You can’t complain though, because after realizing how good he is with his kids, all you’ve been able to think about is how much fun you’ll get to have practicing to make your own, even if that isn’t any time soon. You groan as Hendery’s hands slide into the back of your athletic shorts to take two fistfuls of your ass for himself. “Fuck,” you mumble against his lips.
Hendery knows you well enough to know it’s game on. He guides you backwards until your back hits the couch and pushes his knee up between your legs to steady you. “What has gotten into you?” You exhale as his lips attach themselves to your neck, kissing and sucking his mark into your skin, your eyes closing as your head tilts for his benefit. You can feel him smile against your skin but he doesn’t answer verbally, opting to press his knee up against your already needy core instead. You choke out a moan of surprise, your arms splaying out either side of you to hold the couch for more support.
Hendery places a final kiss to your neck and pulls back to look at you. When he finds your eyes closed, your head tilted back, he drags his hand up from the back base of your neck up into your hair. He fists it and pulls your head up to eye level with him, smirking at the way you naturally open your eyes with a soft whine. “You think I’d be a good dad, huh?” His low lids and dark but involved expression make your core throb with want. “Yes. I know so.”
Hendery’s free hand lifts the hem of your shirt just enough to allow him room to slide inside your shorts. He bypasses your panties completely, beelining for your clit. His eyes are so trained on yours as he rubs firm circles into your bud, not bothering to take his time and start slowly. You twitch from the surprise attack, an appreciative moan ripping its way out of your throat that turns your face beet red when you remember that other people live here too. Hendery smirks, his fingers dipping lower to prod at your entrance, something he knows will make you whine and sometimes even beg for him. He’s right. The needy whines and whimpers grace his ears just as expected. “Hey, y/n?” His eyes still haven’t left yours. You hum in response, trying to focus on anything but the way you clench around nothing from his fingers so close to where you want them. “I’d like to breed you.”
He says it so casually, so matter-of-factly and emphasizes his desire by pushing two long fingers inside of you. You’re so grateful for the fullness of his fingers that you almost forget to process what he said. “Hendery,” you whine, your hips rocking against his fingers in search of more stimulation. “Y-you don’t know that you want that,” you breathe out, forcing your moans down as best as you can to speak clearly. He responds by hooking his fingers inside you, stroking your walls just the right way to render you momentarily nonverbal.
“I know what I want, y/n.” He sounds certain, collected, despite you falling apart right in front of him. “I want to fill this pretty little cunt with my cum. I want you to watch it drip out of you after I fuck a baby into you.” His fingers instantly adopt a brutal pace, fucking you with such speed that your eyes roll into the back of your head and your body quivers, your mouth hung open with silent moans. Then he stops. His fingers stop moving altogether and just rest inside your leaking cunt that’s begging for release. “That’s what I want. The question is, are you going to let me?”
You pant and try to refocus yourself, groaning in frustration at the way you can’t seem to stop yourself from clenching around his fingers. “Hendery, fuck. This is such a big thing to ask me when I can barely think straight.” You complain but he just grins, knowing you’re not actually mad at him. You’re just frustrated because he dangled an orgasm in front of your face and took it away. He leans into you, brushing his nose against yours and pressing a soft kiss to your cheek. “It’s okay if you say no, princess. I just would love to have a family with you.” He pauses before adding, “I’ll still make you cum even if you say no. Promise.”
You can’t help but laugh a little. He always finds a way to lighten even the most serious topics. You look at him and really consider what’s on the table. You’ve wanted to have a family with Hendery for a long time. You’ve just always thought that the conversation about when and how to do that would come about much differently. You do want it though and it seems he wants it just as much. So why not, right? You lift a weak arm to place a gentle hand on his cheek. “You know what? I love you. Let’s do it.”
You’re not sure you’ve ever seen Hendery happier. He swiftly picks you up, steadying you with his hands under your ass, and carries you away. When you think you’re going to his room, you enter the dorm’s study instead, Hendery closing the door behind the two of you before laying you on the leather couch. He doesn’t even need to see the inquisitive look on your face to know what you’re thinking. “These walls are pretty thick. Which means you and I can be as loud as we want.” He mumbles the words into the skin of your stomach as his hands hurriedly pull your shorts and panties down your legs before tossing them to the floor with a smirk. “And we’ll need all the sound-proofing we can get because when I said I want to breed you, that’s exactly what I meant.”
Your stomach is doing flips and your heart is racing out of your chest, the excitement you’re feeling dripping out of your cunt. You sigh happily, tangling your hand in Hendery’s long strands as he sloppily tongues your clit, his hands now reaching beneath him to free himself from his jeans. “Feels so good,” you praise with closed eyes. He snickers and you feel his mouth abandon you as he stands up to completely rid himself of his jeans and underwear. You can’t help but gasp when you see his mouth-wateringly drippy cock.
Hendery grins down at you while he pumps his shaft, repositioning himself over you. He uses the precum oozing from his tip and your own arousal to easily glide himself between your lower lips, back and forth. You squirm and whimper under him, too aroused by the situation to control your sensitivity. “Fuck, Hendery,” you breathe out, your arms rising to rest around either side of your head, your back arching. “Please fuck me. Want you so bad.”
Hendery nestles his face into your neck and hums, stilling his cock to press against your entrance, his hand moving between your bodies to slowly circle your clit with his middle finger. He’s teasing you now and you know it. Why else break the no-holds-barred pace he set before? “What exactly is it you want from me, y/n?” The rasp and want in his voice makes you dizzy as if the pressure on your clit wasn’t enough already. “Want you to fill me with your cum,” you whine, lifting your hips in search of more him.
It seems you answered just the way he wanted, his hips stuttering and his hand drifting from your clit to his cock. “I love it when you talk dirty. Don’t forget that I warned you.” It’s all he says before he thrusts into you fully, the empty room echoing with simultaneous groans. He pauses to take a moment to appreciate the way you envelop him and then he snaps, fucking into you at such a brutal pace that your head lolls back and your body goes limp. His hands clutch your hips harshly, pulling your entire body down onto his cock as he drives himself into you ever deeper.
You try to cry out his name–for what you don’t know–but your words fail you. The only sounds in the room are Hendery’s determined grunts and the clapping of your bodies meeting. You’re not even sure much time is passing. It could be seconds, it could be an hour. You have no concept of anything but Hendery ravaging you. Your mouth remembers how to work enough to allow you broken pleas and desperate moans as you feel yourself about to tumble over the edge into an orgasm, one that arrives sooner than ever before. Your hands reach for him mindlessly and he takes them both in one of his, pressing a kiss to the tangle of digits. “Cum for me,” he prompts, circling his hips as he’s buried deep inside of you before reverting back to his relentless onslaught of you.
You didn’t need his permission because you wouldn’t have been able to stop yourself anyway, but it helps to sweeten the deal when you’re clenching around him, your nails digging into his hands as you cry out for him before it chokes off into a silent scream. Hendery is hissing under his breath, eying where your bodies connect as if he could see just how much you tighten around him.
He slaps his hand against your inner thigh and grips it firmly, spreading you open just that much wider for him as he crashes himself into you again and again, chasing his own release. You’re buzzing from the overstimulation, body shaking against your will, but you force your focus onto him, coaxing him to an orgasm of his own. You roll your hips to meet his, your hands sliding into his messy hair. “Want your cum so bad,” you whine and it’s true. You want to feel the warmth of him filling you to the brim. You’re practically drooling thinking about it.
“Fuck,” he groans, your words feeding the exact desire he’s attempting to fulfill right now. He escalates his pace for just a few moments before he thrusts as deep as humanly possible and empties himself into you, his cum more than filling your cunt. It trickles right out. He watches his own seed leaking out of you like it’s the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen, his hand on your thigh loosening to rub soothing circles against the flesh.
He comes to and looks down at you with the most loving smile, sweat glistening on his perfect skin. “Fuck, y/n,” he starts with a chuckle. He leans down to press a soft kiss to your lips and it feels nice in contrast to the way he fucked you, though you can’t say you didn’t love that too. You loved it a lot, actually. “You’re so perfect. I love you.” He nudges your nose with his and kisses the tip of it before pulling back to look at you intently.
“I’m going to get some things to clean you up, mhm? Water too. Maybe some snacks. Do you want a blanket? I could get your favorite pillow–” He stops rambling when he notices the way you’re grinning at him and laughs at himself. “Really though. I’m going to take care of you, I promise. I’ll be right back. You just lay here and wait for me. Is that okay?” He waits for your confirmation then gives your lips another tender kiss before he slips out of you. “I love you, you know that?” He repeats it as if he didn’t just tell you a moment ago but it makes your heart feel full. Hendery always makes you feel like that.
As he’s making his way to the door, he pauses before he opens it. “Oh, and I’ll figure out the food situation with the guys. Have to make sure you eat well and all that. But don’t worry, I won’t let them come in. This…” He gestures to the way you’re splayed out on the couch, half naked, dripping with him. “This is just for me.”

WayV Dealing With Period Related things
TW: This doesn’t contain anything graphic! But you might not want to read this if you’re grossed out by the topic in general.
Genre: Fluff // Crack
-> Kun. So here is someone who randomly reads up on the topic. And one day he found this fact about women only bleeding roughly a shot glass worth of blood every month. Which got him in fact very confused. So he hastily walked into the kitchen, his eyes opened in shock: “Is this true??”
You quickly scan the article and nod. “Yeah, that seems about right.”
“It’s just this much??”
“How much did you think it was??”
-> Ten. Probably the most chill person to be around. I kind of expect him to have a lot of female friends who openly talk about this kind of thing right in front of him. So even if he mind in the beginning he doesn’t anymore. You can literally ask him to get you whatever or cook for you and he will do it. He would probably do the chores if you’re in a lot of pain. As well. Let you wear all of his shirts if you want to and you get to decide what shows to watch. But he would either in a very subtle way do all those things or make you praise him lol. Like “Look what a great stay-at-home husband I can be! You’re very happy to have me.” Just because he knows you don’t like to be obviously pampered. You rather have all the work taken away from you by force and not expect him to do it.
-> Xiaojun. You usually never ask him to get pads or anything because you know how much it kind of grosses him out (even though he would never admit it, because he loves you). But there was this on time where you didn’t manage getting them yourself and you would run out of supplies the next day so you asked him to pick something up on his way home. But you immediately regret asking him as you hear him assuring you it was no big deal on the phone. Because, well, you it kind of was. Xiaojun was ver much clueless. And your intuition should not be failed.
As he came home and unpacked the bags he proudly presented you diapers. After you ask him why the hell he got diapers and not just common pads he said: “They had this as well but the package said something about anti leaking and then I started to think about leaking. And if there would be leaking - well, I figured you didn’t want that. So to fully prevent it I got you these!” He looked so proud and manly, gaining full pride from having thought about his girlfriend this much and actually read the package at the store without being embarrassed. But you just blank look at him and bluntly say:
“Xiaojun, I am menstruating. I am not shitting myself.”
-> Lucas. May I present you the most childish one. You may correct me but you can’t change my mind about hi having the highest sex drive in this group. And the most ludicrous humour. So he cracks jokes about it all the time including the one about real men moving into the Red Sea. But in his case the only place men move to is the sofa at night because you heard this joke too many times. Overall he is sweet though. He will use the jokes to cheer you up because he knows you share that sense of humour. He will also get you these cliche things like chocolate.
But just the second you think he stopped being dirty minded and came to care for you he pulls out an article saying orgasms being a great pain reliever because of endorphins and such.
You hit him with the paper. “So this is what it takes to get you to read a medical journal??”
Nevertheless you have to admit that with all his silliness, he is actually reliable and without his jokes it would be a pretty triste week.
-> Hendery. Women having their periods are his war flashbacks. Having grown up with loads of sisters has taken it’s toll on him. It used to be very chaotic and hormonal. So he is kind of every careful with you when you’re on your period. Extra nice and quiet. Just as if he’s trying not to wake up a beast. At first you were really offended by his behaviour. Then you got to meet his sisters and even though they are very sweet you could see by the way he was behaving next to them and how he was their little brother; you understood where is caution came from. So you just let him be. For the time being he disappears and yo barely get to see him. But your cramps are not so bad in the first place so you’re actually fine on your own.
It takes him a while to realise you’re not moody or cranky at all - just hidden somewhere in a lot of blankets. So he occasionally drops by to bring food.
It is actually very sweet how he chips in to be there for you every now and then.
He obviously tries his best.
-> Winwin. Usually keeps his questions to himself. He also doesn’t google because he is scared of what he is going to find. So he takes matters in his own hands and tries to find answers to his questions himself.
So hone day you come home early and catch him in the kitchen, soaking a clean tampon in a glass of water. Winwin obviously got scared and panicked not only by you coming home and catching him red handedly but also because this thing just soaked up so much water and got huge. You stand in the doorway looking at him curiously. He’s looking back in shock. But you didn’t say anything since Winwin tends to do weird things from time to time and you’ve gotten used to it. After three seconds of silence he couldn’t help but ask: “W-why is it so big?? How does that possibly fit??” And you just burts into laughter. Apparently he just still is a kid after all, so you say whining away a tear: “First of all that is where your dong goes - and secondly it is also where babies come from so it better stretch.”
His looks is worth a million bucks, really.
-> Yangyang. He is and will be a kid. Not because he is young but because he is childish. So you don’t trust him at all and actually google a picture of the product you need. Yangs offered and insisted of getting you supplies because he somewhere picked up that this is what responsible boyfriends do. So for shits and giggles you let him. But you know he will chicken out once he is facing the aisle. Hence the picture.
“If you don’t know where to find this, just ask a shop assistant. They know.”
He reassures you that he is fully capable and you should not worry.
When he came home he handed you a small bag not only with the product you asked for but also some more enhanced ones. And you find your boyfriend avoiding your eyes mumbling: “The lady said you might like these better because they are more comfortable. It’s a new product so she thought perhaps you want to try it. But honestly I have no idea what ‘wings’ mean or why pads need them.”
He is kind of embarrassed but you are proud of him that he said ‘pads’. So you spare him the explanation.

♡ prompt list
"Are you just going to stare at me?" You hummed, your eyes focused on the dreamy smile on Hendery's face.
Hendery was a fool in love; some might have said he was the tiniest bit obsessed with you, in the most endearing way possible. His friends turned it into a running joke, never failing to comment on how down bad Hendery was for you. And the truth of the matter is, Hendery was actually down terribly.
Always sending photos of things that reminded him of you, remembering the smallest details about you that no one else caught on to and, in moments like now, standing at your doorstep with a grin on his face after already spending a whole three hours with you at the mall.
"You're just so pretty." Hendery whined, cupping your face in his hands as he placed a quick kiss on your nose; one of many that he had peppered all over your face throughout the night.
"I know, I know, you've said that five times today alone," you chuckled, your face heating up nevertheless at Hendery's shameless affection, "but it's getting late, you should probably head back home."
"Five more minutes." Hendery muttered, comfortably enveloping you in his arms and nuzzling his face on your shoulder.
"Babe… it's almost dark, you know you can't see well to drive in the dark." You insisted, uselessly trying to pry him off of you.
"All the more reason for me to just stay here." Hendery practically purred as he pushed both your bodies into your apartment, knocking the door shut with his foot.
"You're a big baby, you know that?" You rolled your eyes, finally freeing yourself from his grip so you could pull off your shoes and hang up your bag.
"Sorry but I just can't get enough of you." Hendery sighed softly before wrapping his arms around your waist, acting as your tail as you walked through your apartment.
"Hendery, I need to go shower."
"Me too."
"You're usually clingy, but today you've reached your all time best." You chuckled, letting him drag you towards the bathroom down the hall.
"You make me like this," Hendery sang, releasing your hand to tug his shirt off his body, "I'm just a fool for you."
Once you were both stripped down, you stepped into the shower and turned on the water. The droplets on your body were lukewarm, almost cold, and a pleasant contrast from the scorching hot weather outside. Hendery's warm hands came up to massage your shoulders, his lips littering little kisses over the back of your neck. You let your body relax, the water cooling you down and Hendery's hands releasing all the tension in your muscles from the day.
Your moment of tranquility was short-lived when you felt Hendery's erection press up against your ass. He quickly jerked his hips back, murmuring an embarrassed apology, but the damage had already been done. You could feel your tummy warming up with butterflies, a wetness forming between your legs masked with the shower water. You turned your body around to face, a sweet smile on your face as you placed your arms over his shoulders, bringing your warm bodies closer together.
Hendery leaned in for a kiss, his tongue immediately slipping into your mouth and his minty breath engulfing your senses. His hands ran down your torso, his fingers fanned out on your back until they found refuge on your ass, kneading the soft skin. You brought one of your hands down to wrap around his member that was pressed against your abdomen. He groaned against your lips, pushing his body closer to you until your body was resting against the cold tile of the shower wall. You dragged your hand up and down his length, jerking him off as he kissed you desperately, embarrassed of his whimpers and moans that were echoing through the bathroom.
Hendery's hand slipped between your thighs, his wet fingers sliding up your folds. You shuddered at the feeling, letting go of his member to hold yourself steady by his shoulders. Your legs felt like jelly when Hendery dipped two fingers into your entrance, the cold pads against your warm walls. His thumb rubbed your clit, making your body squirm unconsciously, your hole clenching around his fingers. Once Hendery knew you were wet enough, he slowly pulled his fingers out and brought you in for a soft kiss, filled with so much love.
"Turn around baby." He murmured against your lips, his hands on your hips already guiding you.
You positioned your body as he pleased, your chest pressed against the shower wall and your ass slightly jutted out for him. He gave one of your ass cheeks and playful smack and you both giggled, swatting his hand away as he was prepared for another one. Hendery's goofy laughter died down when he gripped your hips and slid his length into your entrance with ease. You both groaned in unison, the sounds of pleasure echoing off the tiles like an empty concert arena.
Hendery's movements were slow at first, rocking his hips and letting you adjust to his size. Then he began ramming into you as if his life depended on it. Hendery wasn't always particularly rough, but he was frivolous, a bit erratic, and you loved it. His hands clumsily danced all over your body, your back slapped against his chest with every thrust. You pressed your hands against the wall to keep yourself stable, Hendery's grunts and moans in your ear going straight to your core. One of Hendery's fingers found its way to your clit, rubbing the sensitive bud, while the other cupped one of your breasts, squeezing it like a stress ball.
"I love you… so much." Hendery whimpered against your ear before planting a wet kiss on the side of your neck.
"I love you too… so much." You whined, feeling the knot in your core getting tighter and tighter.
Those were the last words exchanged before released into you, his seed coating your walls as he continued to thrust his hips against you, riding out his climax. You came undone shortly after with a quick gasp of his name, your hands reaching back to grip onto his dark hair. Hendery eventually pulled out and you turned around to face him, stumbling a bit but Hendery's arms around you made sure you didn't fall flat on your butt. He had that goofy grin on his face, the one that you adored so much, as you tucked some wet strands of hair away from his face. Maybe, just maybe, you were just as "obsessed" with this boy as he was with you.
"Let's hurry up so we can go cuddle." Hendery insisted, despite making no further attempts to back up his statement. He just opted for smiling at you, his fingers drawing little patterns on your back.
"If you literally can't get enough of me, you should just move in." You said sarcastically, rolling your eyes.
"Baby, that's the best idea you've ever had."
"Hendery…"
"I'm kidding!"

Subject: VWAY.AI Models
Mr. E,
The development and manufacturing of the VWay.AI Models has been approved, signed, and soon to enter production. Manufacturing will begin in two weeks’ time and the process will take a span of less than six months thanks to the newest technologies we’ve implemented. This includes mnemonic implants that will greatly improve muscle memory and allow for these models to adapt, adjust, and fulfill their duties as organically and as quickly as possible.
As you know, the VWay.AI are artificially intelligent robots meant to have a vocational role within society. They’re built to last in order to properly aid our clients in physically and mentally strenuous tasks. The point is not to replace human workers but instead to ease their burden. We aim to have these models not only in schools, hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes, but anywhere they might be needed.
Attached to this email, you’ll find various documents regarding the manufacturing process, costs, and the information of different heads of departments that will be working on this project.
Sincerely,
Miss Park

Subject: RE: VWay.AI Models
Miss Park,
Thank you for keeping me up to date with the comings and goings of A.I. PROJECT: #14320.
And though I’m glad to hear we’re moving forward in production with the VWay.AI models, I must correct you in regards to what these models really are.
Artificial intelligence? Yes, no doubt.
Robots? I’m afraid it’s a bit more complicated than that.
You mentioned mnemonic implants but I should add that they’re not the only advancements we’ve obtained, patented, and/or improved. Adding to our technological breakthroughs are these models: the VWay.AI. And they’re not exactly androids. They’re more advanced. They’re synthezoids (i.e. synthetic humanoid robots) and they’re the closest thing we’ve come to replicating humans in terms of behavior and appearance.
I emphasize this specific term and what they are because it’s important for you, for me, and for the company to understand that synthezoids are the future. They will change how we talk of, work with, and implement artificial intelligence in our society moving forward.
Sincerely,
Mr. E
PS; Thank you for the information you’ve sent. It’s been an interesting, if arduous read.

IT WAS SNOWING, and he wasn’t cold.
He never felt cold. With a simple thought, he could deactivate any stimulus he didn’t wish to experience. Neurological impulses like pain, something he had no interest in experiencing, were shut down in the blink of an eye. Cold was cold. It didn’t bother him. It would never bother him unless he allowed it to.
This, he knew, set him apart from the people around him. The very same people that walked past him without sparing him a glance, a wave, or a greeting. He found it slightly interesting and paradoxical that humans felt more automated than himself. For a race that had evolved over millennia, they kept finding new ways to regress.
As he absorbed this thought, he tilted his head upward and felt the gentle touch of snow fall upon his face. He blinked and saw a snowflake on the tip of his nose. Even though there was no cold, it gently grazed his skin. He closed his eyes, activated the stimuli in his brain’s insula, and immediately felt a chilly sensation upon his face as the snowflake began to melt.
For a brief second, he shivered. Then, with a thought, he shut down the cold.
Cold was cold. It didn’t bother him. Not unless he allowed it to.
●
BEHOLD VWAY.AI-MDL: DS-281097.
It’s, as they say, fresh off the box. As a newer model, recently manufactured, with little work and life experience, these are all the things DS-281097 lacks: a name, an identity, a purpose, and a job.
It’s the future. Man’s vision come to life. A dream fulfilled. Yet DS-281097 doesn’t care about that. It simply wants to fulfill its duties. It seeks purpose. It seeks to live.
Or, at the very least, It seeks to exist.
●
AT A CERTAIN point, It became him.
‘It’ was dehumanizing. He was aware he wasn’t human therefore he couldn’t be dehumanized, but ‘It’ lacked life. It implied he was something inanimate and lacked the ability to think for himself, to have his own choices, failures and/or successes.
‘It’ simply implied a lack of depth.
But he was more than just ‘It’. He now was a blank canvas thrust into a chaotically colorful world. He was the future. He was alive. And he was in dire need of a job.
Thankfully, he learned, those were a dime a dozen.
●
HE REMEMBERED OBSERVING strangers celebrating the New Year in Itaewon.
They were rowdy, inebriated, consumed by emotion. He didn’t quite understand it and hadn’t asked why they acted and felt that way. He simply observed, keeping himself to himself, saving the moment for future reference.
He had nothing to celebrate or be grateful for thus the day had no concrete or logical meaning to him. New Year’s Eve was just a day like any other. 24 hours. 1,440 minutes. 86,400 seconds. Nothing more, nothing less.
He found it interesting, however, that South Korea celebrated the departure of the previous year and the arrival of a new one in February instead of December. Sporadically, when least expected, this bit of information would find its way to the forefront of his mind and he would tilt his head as if to wonder where it had come from.
Despite certain observations and reservations, he had to admit that human culture was fascinating. It was different everywhere else. At times, it even differed in the same country. That struck him as odd and vastly fascinating. It was yet another example of humanity being, as he heard Kay-Eleven say, something else. And Kay-Eleven had been right. For all of their flaws and their oddities, humanity never failed to fluster, frustrate, and fascinate him.
Nearly a year later, he still felt this way.
As he walked through the snow, his gait that of someone who knew how to manage the seconds and minutes of his day, he found himself fighting back a desire to smile. He couldn’t understand why. Perhaps, he thought, he’d finally found a reason to smile. But remembering something that he observed from a distance and had no personal involvement in didn’t qualify as a proper reason to smile.
And yet, lo and behold, he suppressed a desire—no, an impulse—to display joy.
He could see Kay-Eleven now, stepping out of the company’s van. He had parked in front of an apartment complex and was beginning to unload the van. He hadn’t arrived late. He’d arrive precisely fifteen minutes before he was supposed to begin his shift. Kay-Eleven was the type to never stay still.
“I should ask him,” he heard himself say out loud. He blinked, slightly surprised, and made sure to remember to ask him instead of talking to himself.
MENTAL NOTE: Ask Kay-Eleven about this strange impulse. Why do I want—no, feel compelled—to smile? When and why have I started talking to myself? It’s not normal. Or, perhaps, it is. I might be adapting to my environment and implementing certain human behaviors. Data for contemplation.
Kay-Eleven was handsome with a kind face, warm eyes, and a smile that immediately endeared you to him. Despite the toque he was wearing, he could tell Kay-Eleven had dyed his hair yet again. It was now silvery-white as opposed to the bright blue he had two days ago.
“Well, well, well,” said Kay-Eleven, watching him approach with a smile so wide that it crinkled his eyes. “You’re looking warm and cozy.”
He looked down at the clothes he was wearing then compared it with what Kay-Eleven was wearing. Though they wore the same insulated navy coverall the company had provided them, Kay-Eleven’s had drawings, handwritten messages, or embroidered patches here and there, all of them made by himself. It wasn’t uncommon to see this type of artistic rebellion in a uniform but it wasn’t exactly encouraged.
“I may look warm and cozy, but I don’t feel—”
Kay-Eleven chuckled. “It’s an expression, bud,” he chucked, waving a dismissive hand. “Help me with unloading the van.”
“Of course.”
He methodically unloaded the van and followed Kay-Eleven into the complex’s lobby. Whenever Kay-Evelen bowed and said good morning to someone, he’d mimic his senior’s actions. Yet no matter how hard he tried he couldn’t infuse his voice or mannerisms with Kay-Eleven’s seamless charisma.

BEHOLD VWAY.AI-MDL: QK-1196
We know him as Kay-Eleven.
But of all the names he has been given and all the names he’s adopted, he prefers a specific one: Kun. For you see, Kay-Eleven—Kun—is no longer an It. Hasn’t been for quite some time—little over four years, to be exact—and is, as they say, an older model.
Experienced, capable, and fully integrated into human society. As far as LSM is concerned, QK-1196 is a triumphant achievement in modern technology. He’s a perfect example of a synthezoid fulfilling and performing their prime directive: easing the burden as efficiently as possible. He has sufficient life and work experience and, as a result, these are all the things QK-1196 has: a name, an identity, a purpose, and a job.
He’s the future. Man’s vision come to life. A dream fulfilled. Yet QK-1196 doesn’t care about that. Truth be told, he never has. He simply wants to experience life to the fullest. He wants the good and the bad—success and failure; love and hate; anger and peace; companionship and loneliness—because while he was programmed to feel emotions, Kun wishes to genuinely experience them.
But above all, above fulfilling his duties and having a purpose, Kun simply seeks one thing.
Kun seeks to live.
●
HE WASN’T STILL used to the name: Winwin.
He had always referred to himself by his serial number but that often made others look at him strangely, wearily, as if they didn’t know what to make of him. It always took them a few seconds to realize that the person they were talking to wasn’t human. He was, as they said, “one of them machines.”
He could always pinpoint the exact microsecond where they tried to hide or display their fear, displeasure, curiosity, or interest. To his chagrin, if he could even feel that, fear and displeasure were the most common reactions.
And though Winwin couldn’t relate to their emotions, he understood why they’d feel like that. Humans rarely embraced change willingly. It was a gradual transition. And he was, as far as they were concerned, the very embodiment of change in the most drastic way possible. He was the future and they weren’t ready for him.
So, as strange as it was, having a name was an advantage. Thing was, Winwin often didn’t know how to feel—no, compute—with having been given one. Kun had christened him with that epithet and it had stuck. Not because it was appropriate or made sense but because he, Winwin, didn’t know he could change it or choose another for his own.
“Why that?” he’d asked when he first heard it.
“Why Winwin as opposed to, say, Mike?” Kun replied with a question of his own as he loaded the van. “Well, shit, why not?”
“Names have meaning, don’t they? They’re meaningful.”
Kun guffawed. “That’s what having meaning means, yes.”
He blinked blankly then whispered, “Was I being redundant?”
“A little bit.”
“I apolo—”
“No need to apologize. You haven’t done anything wrong, bud.” Kun waved him off, closed the van’s doors, then leaned against them. Even though he didn’t have to, he groaned as though he were exhausted. He presumed then concluded Kun had done so just because he could. Synthezoids never tired. “You know what a win-win is?”
He thought about it, searched his data-bank, then nodded when he found the answer. Kun pouted in an amused manner, as though impressed, and pointed at him with his chin for him to continue. His lips were tugged on either side, slowly but surely forming a smile.
“What is it, then?” he asked.
“It is something that is advantageous or beneficial to all parties.”
Kun snapped his fingers, his smile wider. “You win, I win, and everyone’s happy,” he conceded. “That’s why that’s your name.”
“I still don’t get it.”
“Do you need to?”
“I believe I should.”
Kun frowned. “You believe?”
Winwin paused, then said, “Yes.”
Kun remained silent for a few things before he spoke again. “Good. Believing is good. Once you believe, you feel.” He beamed then frowned again. “Or is it the other way around?”
“Winwin,” he repeated, committing the name to memory. “It’s better than identifying myself by my serial number.”
“Way better, trust me.” Kun nodded. He approached Winwin but didn’t invade his personal space, aware that his fellow synthezoid wasn’t keen on being touched, and mimicked knighting him. “I doth christen thee Winwin.”
Christened. As though he were human. As though he were part of some religious doctrine. As though he were truly alive. But the name had stuck. And once something was named, once something ceased being something, it became someone.
Though Winwin had resolved to simply adapt to this—to having a name and slowly earning an identity—and accept the fact that he was capable of growth and being more than just a mere machine in the eyes of others, it was still strange to be called by something other than a serial number.
But that had been months ago, and he had been actively trying to not frown or correct others—or himself—whenever he heard his name.
To give an example:
“Winwin,” Kun called after him, his voice laced with something akin to affection. “You okay, bud?”
He blinked and realized where they were. The elevator doors opened on the sixth floor to a narrow gray corridor in dire need of some repainting. Kun easily took half their equipment—a trolley toolbox and a hefty-looking duffel bag—and stepped out, eyeing Winwin with slight concern.
“You look lost in thought.”
“I was—” Winwin paused, unsure on how to express himself. He pursed his lips then spoke his mind without fear of analyzing his words. “I was remembering.”
“Were you, now?”
Winwin gave a small, slow nod. “I reckon I was . . .” he trailed off.
“That’s good,” said Kun, offering a half-smile, “and I’m all for it, but we’re about to meet a client and we need to have our GFO.”
Winwin blinked. He was a black canvas. Kun deflated, the gesture almost comical to everyone but Winwin, then chuckled to himself. Even when he was paying attention, Winwin had a blank stare that gave away nothing but the impression that he was either dumb (i.e. mute) or dull (i.e stupid). He was neither of these things but people often reached their own conclusions and rarely ever took the time to reevaluate them.
“Never mind,” his senior replied, shaking his head as he chuckled. “On second thought, your remembering-face and your game-face are pretty much the same.”
“Meaning?”
Kun shrugged one shoulder. “Meaning that you shouldn’t worry. Now, off the lift. We gotta work for a living.”
Work for a living? Strange, Winwin thought, I don’t work for a living.
He worked because that was his entire reason for being. His purpose—his prime directive—was to ease the burden. Thus his work wasn’t a means of maintaining himself financially but a means to maintain himself available and functional for whoever needed him.
MENTAL NOTE: Working for a living. Is that possible? Is that even a fulfilling endeavor?
“Do we truly work for a living?” Winwin asked, easily carrying another trolley toolbox of his own. He had shouldered a blue knapsack that was decorated with embroidered patches of flowers and cartoon cats. “Does that apply to us?”
“Good question.” Kun’s voice bounced off the corridor’s walls as they stopped in front of the apartment they had been called to work in. He cleared his throat and cracked his neck. It was a sickly impressive metallic crack that Winwin always cringed at. “No, it doesn’t.”
“It doesn’t?”
“No,” Kun whispered, his tone steely. He kept his eyes forward and focused on the apartment door. “And that’s that.” He sighed when he felt Winwin staring and added, “For now, anyways.”
“That implies you will answer the question later. Or, at the very least, elaborate on your answer.”
“Yes.” Kun gave a small nod, his jaw clenched. “GFO, bud.”
LEXICON: GFO. Abbreviation for ‘Game Face On’. Neutral or serious facial expression. Often used to display focus, intimidation, and/or composure under pressure.
Winwin lifted his chin and stood straighter. He could do this. When you were programmed to feel emotions and could turn them on and off on a dime, getting your GFO was easier done than said.
Kun, on the other hand, wore his emotions, regardless of them being programmed, on his sleeves. Winwin could tell when he was peeved, content, despondent, relaxed. It was very apparent and even more obvious because he wasn’t hindered by his programming to conceal these emotions. He had made sure he wasn’t Censored.
“Three, two, one—” Kun reached out and gently knocked twice on the door. It wasn’t long before it was opened and he offered a smile. Winwin noticed there was a rueful expression on his face. “Good morning.”
And that’s when you came in.
●
BEHOLD YOU.
Human. Young. A bright future ahead of you. And nursing one hell of a hangover.
It’s the result of a reluctant night of socializing with friends. You had arrived home tipsy, promptly fell asleep, and remained unconscious for well over four hours. The phone rang and you didn’t pick it up. It rang again—once, twice, thrice—until you couldn’t ignore it anymore and answered, groggy and wincing, to learn that the man that essentially was your uncle, Mr. Wong, had passed away.
Tragedy had struck.
As usual, its timing is very fucking inconvenient.
Between the hangover and the overwhelming urge to scream and punch a wall, you don’t know what to do. Right now, you want to sleep and never wake up. You wish for comfort, for someone to tell you this isn’t happening. You wish to got to his apartment and find him making breakfast. You wish not to feel grief, to not be overwhelmed by it, but there’s no way out of this.
Though you don’t want to face this, whether on your own or accompanied, you must. You wish, above all things, to be strong. With all your heart, you wish you have the strength and the composure to endure this.
If not for yourself then for Mr. Wong.
●
“MORNING,” YOU REPLIED, wearily meeting their gazes. “Sorry to call you this early in the morning, but, y’know, it was an emergency.”
The man that had greeted you—affable, silvery white hair underneath his beanie—gently shook his head and offered a respectful bow. “We understand,” he replied, his voice soft. “We’re here to ease the burden.”
Ease the burden, you thought and tried not to frown. It was an odd thing to say. Yet it was something you had read or heard before on TV, billboards, and ads on the internet and the radio. Though it was nothing new, it was nonetheless eerie to hear such words aloud, spoken by the very product LSM wanted to force down your eyes, ears, and throat.
“I’m Kun,” he said, then pointed at his companion. “This is Winwin.”
You nodded and introduced yourself properly. Kun spoke formally and seemed charismatic. Winwin said nothing and seemed dumb. Both were handsome. You didn’t know what to make of that. They were machines—ridiculously human-looking machines—so it was off-putting to have them staring back at you with very human expressions in their faces.
You had no strong opinion on robots, even if you weren’t exactly comfortable being around them. They existed as technological advances. That was the extent of your thoughts on them. And, sure, they made life somewhat easier, but there were times—especially now—when their mere presence made you feel redundant.
“Pleasure to—” you paused, looking for the proper phrase, “—make your acquaintance.”
A genuinely friendly smile spread across Kun’s face. It wasn’t weird; in fact, the gesture felt natural.
“Likewise,” he replied, bowing respectfully.
Winwin was staring. When you met his gaze, he blinked then slowly looked away. He seemed stiff, as though he was still getting used to working with people. Tall, pale, and with an aloof aura that matched well with his handsome features, you thought he was quite the looker. You’d be swooning and actively making conversation if it weren’t for the fact that you were hungover and that twenty minutes ago there had been a corpse in the apartment.
“So . . .” You began, clearing your throat. “What exactly do you do?”
Though Kun’s smile faltered, it didn’t leave his face. “We’re trauma cleaners,” he explained. “Which means we clean after the deceased and collect personal items that are passed on to their next of kin.”.
“And you throw away the rest?”
“That which isn’t of value is thrown out, yes.”
You considered this. What was valuable to you was utter shit to someone else. How could these machines determine what was and wasn’t of value? It wasn’t like they cared for material things.
“You’re Mr. Wong’s next of kin, right?”
“Not really. I mean, like, he was a widower and his daughter lives abroad.” You scratched your forehead, sighing. “Besides his nephew, I’m the closest person to him in the city.”
Kun gave a small nod. “I see.”
“By happenstance or some other bullshit like that, he’s returning from Macau today.”
“Until he returns to the city, you are Mr. Wong’s next of kin,” said Winwin, staring in your general direction but not exactly at you.
You looked at him. “The lady I talked with on the phone said you were quick workers—”
“We are efficient,” Winwin interjected in a soft, monotone voice. “Quick might imply a lack of tact or professionalism.”
Oh-kay, you thought, eyes widening in uneasiness and offense. You glanced at Kun, who was glancing at Winwin and doing his best not to grimace. Before you could clear your throat again, you felt a wave of nausea hit you like a freight train, and immediately leaned on the door frame.
“Whoa, there,” you heard Kun exclaim, saw him reach out through your periphery. “You okay?”
“I’m—” you burped into your hand, “—fine.”
“You don’t look fine,” Winwin pointed out, deadpan.
“Aiya!” Kun rolled his eyes, rubbed his left temple. “Winwin, your lack of tact is showing!”
“It’s okay.” You gently shook your head, afraid of another bout of nausea. “He’s right. I’m not fine.”
Kun nodded, though you could tell he felt embarrassed. Could robots even feel embarrassment? Winwin, on the other, seemed to feel nothing at all. One felt and displayed too much emotion, the other was apparently devoid of it.
You invited them in, moving aside so that they could pass with their equipment. Once inside, they bowed, thanked you, and asked where Mr. Wong’s room was. You pointed them to his bedroom and stayed in the small corridor that opened to the rest of the apartment. From here you could see the living room, peek into the bathroom to your right, and get a glimpse of the kitchenette to your right. Mr. Wong’s bedroom was past the living room, the only other door in this claustrophobic excuse for a home.
“Could we have a word before we start?” Kun’s voice echoed in the empty apartment.
“Sure!” you answered, unable to walk to Mr. Wong’s bedroom.
“Uh—” Kun began, unsure.
There was some indistinct mumbling between the two. A second later, Winwin was popping in on the living. He gave the bedroom the once-over then stopped to look at you. Feigning a smile, you made eye contact.
“You wanted to say something?”
“Yeah, it’s just that . . .” he trailed off, thinking. “We present ourselves to the deceased before we start working. Since you’re here, Kun was wondering if you’d like to join us.”
You blinked, doing your best not to cuss him out or cry. He noticed, reading your body language, and looked almost apologetic. Almost.
However, I understand that it’s not an easy thing to ask or do. Kun was merely extending an invitation.”
“Why?” you snapped. “Why exactly would I want to go there?”
Winwin stared, meeting your gaze. “To grieve, I suppose.”
“Do you grieve?”
“No,” he replied, bluntly. “I don’t have anything to grieve for.”
You closed your eyes, rubbing the bridge of your nose. “How nice that must be.”
“I see you’re uncomfortable.” Winwin’s voice was both distant and close. “I’ll be joining Kun to give you privacy.”
You gave him a thumbs-up without looking, though the impulse to flip him off had crossed your mind. When you opened your eyes, he was gone. You could hear them talking, their voices bouncing off the apartment’s walls. Though you didn’t want to, you found yourself walking to the living room. Glancing at Mr. Wong’s room, you saw them bowing their heads.
You wondered what the hell they were doing.
●
KUN HAD TAKEN off his toque and lowered his head, as if in prayer. Winwin had always found this odd but had grown accustomed to this part of the job. He mimicked Kun’s posture and waited for him to introduce them both.
“Care to do it this time?” Kun whispered, his voice serene.
Winwin opened his eyes, stared at him, and saw that he had remained in the same prayer-like pose. Slowly, as though considering it then giving in, Winwin closed his eyes again.
“Mr. Wong Henry Lin, on July 31st you passed away. I’m DS-28—” he felt Kun nudging him on the side with his elbow, cleared his throat even though he didn’t need to, and corrected himself. “I am Winwin—”
“And I’m Kun.”
“And we’re trauma cleaners from Soul Migration. Now, we will begin to help you make your final move.”
“We’ll do our best to treat you well.” Kun bowed respectfully. “With the reverence and care that you deserve.”
Winwin bowed, though he knew it hadn’t been with the same kind of emotion, the same kind of intent, as Kun. He felt lethargic, copying everything his senior did, as though he were in his shadow and unable to do anything else.
Without a second to waste, they got to work.
●
YOU WAITED IN the lobby, pacing, thinking of how your day started and how your day was going.
Let’s review, you mused.
You were hungover. Someone you loved had suddenly passed away. Hendery wasn’t still here. Two androids were upstairs, unsupervised and determining what had value and tossing aside what didn’t. And—ugh—you had work in a couple of hours. Mr. Nam would understand, of course, if you called and told him what had happened; you’d obviously omit the hangover, but everything else you would share. He was emphatic and he was on good terms with Mr. Wong—correction: Uncle Wong—so you weren’t that anxious about work so much as not wanting to deal with absolutely anything.
You sighed and buried your face in your hands, praying an agnostic prayer into the universe, hoping and wishing to be given a sign on how to deal with everything that was brewing in your head. But there was no response. Not even a whisper. You were about to break down crying when the elevator’s door opened and LSM’s boy toys stepped out.
“You’re done?” you asked, glancing at your wristwatch. “It’s only been forty minutes.”
“The apartment was small,” Kun replied.
He dragged along two hefty-looking trash bags in one hand and pulled his trolley-toolbox on the other. On top of the trolley toolbox was a yellow box with flower drawings. Behind him, Winwin carried what he had brought into the apartment—another trolley toolbox and a backpack—and two trash bags. All of that looked heavy yet they made it look effortless.
“Plus,” Kun continued, offering a small smile, “he was a very neat man, which allowed us to work more efficiently.”
You raised your eyebrows, impressed. Not because they had done their job quicker than you thought but because Uncle Wong wasn’t exactly the modicum of neatness. It seemed all your nagging sunk in . . . as late as it did.
You eyed the yellow box eerily because you saw his name on its lid. There, written in hangul, was a single sentence. It read: The Late Wong Henry Lin, Rest In Peace.
That threw you for a loop. Even after seeing Uncle Wong’s body in his bed, even after they had collected him and driven him away, his death hadn’t truly felt real. Because when you found him in his bed, he looked like he was sleeping, peaceful, almost happy.
Before you knew it, you were crying. One second you were standing, the other you felt your legs turn to jelly. Next thing you knew you had collapsed, overwhelmed by fear and sadness and anger. Seeing his name written there, understanding what it meant, broke you because it exposed and solidified the truth you had been denying since you woke up this morning.
That Uncle Wong was gone. That never again could you call upon him for help or to buy him dinner. Never again would you be able to hear his voice or his laugh. Never again would you be able to look upon his honey brown eyes and feel the warmth, the love, of his gaze.
“Shit,” you heard Kun whisper, but it wasn’t unkind. In fact, it sounded like an empathetic outburst. “Help me with—yah!—Winwin, what are you doing?”
“Excuse me,” said Winwin, his voice devoid of emotion. “Do you consent to me helping you?”
In between tears and uneven breathing, you blinked to see Winwin crouching in front of you. He was staring but he wasn’t judging you or taking pity; he seemed to be absorbing the moment, waiting for you to answer. He blinked and you noticed the shape of his eyes—what you had heard being described as the Red Phoenix Type—and lost yourself for a second in them. You admired the brown of his eyes, how the light reflected off them and made them shine.
“Wh-what?” you mumbled, surprised that you could form a sentence.
“Do you consent to me helping you?” He repeated, unblinking and unmoving. “Off the ground, I mean. I ask because I wouldn’t want to touch you without your say so. People being helped by strangers can be a “red-flag” or a cause for anxiety for some.”
“Give me a sec to wallow in self-pity.”
Winwin glanced at Kun over his shoulder, confused. Kun smiled ruefully and whispered something (“It’s an expression!”) and simply stood there. He looked slightly worried, but he accompanied you, hands resting on his thighs as he crouched. As the tears began to subside, you felt in control and less overwhelmed by emotion. When you looked up, Kun was holding the yellow box; Winwin was staring right at you, scrutinizing your body language and facial expressions.
Winwin motioned an idle hand in Kun’s general direction. “He told me it’s an expression.”
“Yeah.” You nodded back, fighting then embracing a bout of laughter brought by exhaustion and God knew what else. “It’s an expression.”
“Can I help you now?” He asked, his voice infused with empathy; whether it was genuine or forced, you couldn’t tell.
You sniffed, wiping tears off your eyes and cheeks with the back of your cardigan. “Sure.”
“These belonged to Mr. Wong,” said Winwin, pointing to the yellow box. “Now they belong to you.”
“It’s quite heavy,” said Kun, looking down at the box and admiring Winwin’s handwriting. “So I’ll be more than happy to carry it.”
“Er—” You looked at the box then shrugged one shoulder, “—sure, yeah, thank you.”
Kun gently placed the yellow box back on the trolley toolbox. “I know it’s not the best time to ask, but do you know when and where the funeral would take place?”
You shook your head, eyes watery. “No fucking clue.”
“Would you like to have coffee or consume another type of hot, comforting beverage?” Winwin asked, extending his hand to help you up. “Perhaps eat something?”
“I—sure.” You took his hand, and held back a gasp when you felt how soft his skin was and how strong yet gentle he was. For a second, you stared at him then looked away, no doubt blushing. You could chalk it up to being hungover; they would never know. “My treat. After all, you’ve been very—er—respectful and diligent.”
Kun smiled. Winwin blinked.
You had a feeling he knew you didn’t believe your own words .
●
YOU PICKED THE place: a nice little cafe a few blocks away.
Plastered on the window was a sign that read ‘AUTOMATONS WELCOMED’. You read it, grimaced, then noticed Kun looking at it with contempt. Winwin, on the other, barely glanced at it; even if he did read it, he seemed to not care.
The three of you sat on a table by a window, overlooking the busy intersection outside as cars whizzed by and pedestrians made their way to wherever they needed to be. The snow was still falling so the sidewalk and street were covered in white. It would have been a nice sight, if not for your shitty mood.
“Morning,” said a waitress, smiling a bit too artificially and carrying an iPad. She was young and pretty with a peppy aura. “What are you folks having?”
“Coffee,” said Kun, tapping the edge of the table to open the digital menu the restaurant was proud of integrating on their holotables. “I’ll have kimchi eggs and toast.”
The waitress nodded, tapped the iPad, then swiftly turned to Winwin and you. “And you? What would you like?”
“Coffee, black, no sugar,” you whispered, not bothering to look at the menu, hands on your face. “Kimchi buchimgae. Scrambled eggs. Bulgogi.”
The waitress raised her eyebrows, impressed. “Someone’s hungry,” she sniggered mechanically as she moved from you to Winwinw. “And you?”
Winwin blinked. “I don’t need nourishment.”
“Are you sure—”
“Very certain, yes.” He stared at the waitress with a blank look, lips pursed. “I’m a machine.”
“Oh.” The waitress’ smile wavered. “We have options for automatons.”
Winwin raised an eyebrow, tilted his head as if considering the option. The waitress approached the table, tapped it, and a menu labeled AUTOMATON GRUB popped up. While she blankly smiled at him, he blankly stared at the menu.
“No, I’m fine,” he deadpanned.
The waitress blinked, unable to compute the lack of an order.
“He’ll have a Boba Oil Tea,” Kun interjected, smiling confidently. “Please and thank you.”
“Alright. Would you like for your orders to be read back?”
You shook your head. Winwin stared into the middle distance. Kun nodded. The waitress, serial number HYJ-52600, read back the order, nodded, smiled when Kun thanked her, then left you three alone.
“Ugh,” you grumbled, rubbing your eyes. “This will be a long day.”
“It’s still morning, y’know,” Kun said, lips sheepishly puckered. “The day’s still starting so—”
You raised a hand, shook your head. “I know you’re trying to comfort me, but it really isn’t helping.”
Winwin blinked, scrutinizing your lethargic posture. “And what would help?” he inquired in a methodical tone.
“Silence, coffee, and food.” You mumbled, averting Winwin’s gaze. A mirthless chuckle escaped your lips as you added, “Maybe a nap that never ends? Yeah. Endless slumber would be a great idea after breakfast.”
Kun drummed his fingers on the table, nodding. “That sounds like a plan.”
“That sounds like sarcasm.” You scoffed, narrowing your eyes at him.
“Well, if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck . . .” Kun shrugged one shoulder, tilting his head to the side. He cleared his throat and immediately looked apologetic. “That wasn’t—er—someone giving you sass isn’t what you wanna hear right now.”
“How do you know what I would like to hear?”
“I don’t.” Kun shook his head, gently. “I can’t even begin to fathom what you’re going through.”
You glared at him, unsure if he was being sincere or condescending. His voice was laced with empathy, as though he was putting himself in your shoes. Kun’s eyes had a glint of sorrow in them and he wasn’t looking at you with pity but with kindness.
How was it possible that a machine was capable of feeling and displaying this amount of emotion? It shouldn’t be possible yet Kun and Winwin were living proof that it was. They felt emotions—or, at the very least, they simulated them—and it somehow felt organic? Granted, you had met your fair of automatons, drones, and monotone A.I.s , but none had the humanity these two had.
“We don’t presume to know what you’re feeling,” said Winwin, his eyes slowly meeting yours. Whether or not he was being tactful or merely socially lacking, you couldn’t tell, but you caught on the somber tone, the softness in his voice. “But if it would grant you peace of mind or, perhaps, give you comfort to talk about—”
“Talk about what?” You narrowed your eyes at him. “What makes you think I’d wanna talk about—”
Winwin stared blankly, then slowly blinked. “Death?”
“I feel overwhelmed,” you admitted, avoiding eye contact.
“That’s understandable—”
“Is it? How the fuck would you know if it’s understandable or not?” The vitriol in your voice made you sick. Every fiber in your being was shaking and the tears clouded your eyesight. Emotion, on the other hand, clouded your judgment. “You said you didn’t have anything to grieve for? Not anyone, but anything!”
“I don’t. I’m a—”
You cackled, feeling the tears stream down your face. “You’re a soulless machine! That’s what you are! So don’t pretend to know what I’m going through or what I feel or what will make me feel better. The only person that I could call family is gone. He can never be replaced. So, no, you don’t know what it feels like. And, no, I don’t wanna talk about it.”
Winwin nodded, whispering “okay” as he straightened his posture. Kun stared at you, empathy glinting in his eyes, but said nothing. It seemed they knew better than to argue.
A solemn, hefty silence enveloped the table. It felt like an eternity before someone said anything—Kun was the one to break the spell, thanking HYJ-52600—but no one spoke another word as the three of you ate. Beyond two or three sips, Winwin barely touched his Boba Oil Teal; whether he liked it or not, you really couldn’t tell. Kun, on the other hand, was apparently ravenous.
You had once assumed these machines just plugged themselves to a wall and recharged their batteries, but Hendery had mentioned that some models were capable of consuming edible food; their systems—whatever it might be or however it might work—would break the food down and transform it into a source of energy. It made sense, you supposed, because that’s how food worked with the average human.
However, you still found it odd that machines—rather the technology and the companies behind it—had evolved to the point that they were almost indiscernible from humans. It wasn’t exactly creepy as it was downright nightmare fuel.
This didn’t stop you from eating with them. Nor did it make you lose your appetite.
“When you’re hungry, you ain’t exactly thinking straight,” Uncle Wong’s voice echoed in your head as you dug in. He’d say it often because he was hungry half the damn time.
It made you smile and just as quickly made you want to cry.
●
AS YOU FINISHED eating, your phone rang. You didn’t pick up so the call went to your voicemail. That’s when you noticed four missed calls and three unread texts from Hendery.
Your heart sank and you felt like immediately throwing up the meal you just had; the thought alone made you stand up, excuse yourself, and head straight for the bathroom.
“Shit,” you muttered as you unlocked your phone and called him back. “Dammit.”
You had been so focused on yourself—on how you felt, how you wanted to feel—that you completely forgot about Hendery. One of his texts read that he had made it to the city; the other two asked where he could meet you and if you were okay. You scoffed at his decency and big brother instincts. It should have been you asking him how he felt—or not—and inviting him for coffee instead of hanging out with automatons you barely knew.
With a sigh and eye roll, you hang up when he doesn’t pick up, text him your location, and step out of the cubicle to wash your hands and face. You stared at your reflection, noticed the dark shadows beneath your eyes; they made you look disheveled, despondent, and like you had seen better days. Which, to be fair, was the truth so that brief sting of anger and disappointment you felt quickly dissipated when you accepted that you weren’t okay.
You hadn’t been earlier. You weren’t now. And, perhaps, you wouldn’t be tomorrow. Or the day after that. But eventually, you supposed, you’d be. That’s what Uncle Wong would say.
“If not now, tomorrow. You won’t always feel this way. Just like you can’t always be happy, you won’t always be upset.”
Staring at your reflection, you nodded and muttered, “It’s okay to not be okay.”
That was enough to shake you off your inertia.
●
“THERE YOU ARE!” Hendery called after you, entering the diner.
He was smiling and waving. A hefty-looking backpack hung from his left shoulder. You smiled back, happy to see him despite the circumstances. Hendery walked up to you, arms open, and embraced you in the warmest hug you’ve experienced in a long while. You hugged him back, tighter, hoping against all hope that this moment would last forever because you felt comforted—as though time had stopped and things would go back to the way they used to be.
“Hey,” he interjected, whispering in your ear, “would you mind returning my body to me?”
You blinked, felt him laughing through the hug, and let him go with a nod.
“You look—” you paused, unsure on what to say or how to say it. “—taller.”
“Aiya.” Hendery shook his head, smiling. “Why are you buttering me up for?”
“I—it’s just—I dunno.”
“Are you okay?”
“Not really.”
He blinked, looked at the floor, then sighed and met your gaze. “Yeah. That makes two of us,” he retorted with a rueful half-smile. “I’m sorry I wasn’t here for you.”
“I should be the one apologizing—”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa.” He shook his head. The smile was gone and instead it was replaced by an expression of empathy, his eyes solely focused on you. “Don’t apologize. This was out of our control.”
“He asked me if I had any plans last night. I told him I was going out with friends. I should have told him no—”
“Hey.” He caressed your chin with his index finger then kissed your forehead. “It’s okay.”
“But—”
Hendery scoffed and hugged you again. You felt the tears stream down your face and made no attempt to hold back your grief. You cried, head on his shoulder, and he held you tighter. He whispered that it was okay, his hand rubbing your back, and sighed. If he was grieving, he was doing it in silence and in his own time.
“This is nice and all, but aren’t you going to introduce me to your friends?”
Friends? What friends—oh, shit, right. You blinked and let go of him, turning to your table to see Kun and Winwin openly staring at you both. Winwin seemed curious while Kun looked like he wanted to introduce himself, though doing his best to conceal it. You rubbed your chin, unsure on how to tell Hendery that they weren’t your friends and that they weren’t human.
“They are—” You paused, clearing your throat. “This is Kun and Winwin. They’re trauma cleaners. They cleaned up Uncle Wong’s apartment.”
“Oh?” Hendery blinked then walked up to the table. He extended a hand and greeted them with a firm handshake. As he shook Winwin’s hand, he said, “Thank you for your service.”
Winwin gave their intertwined hands a cursory glance. “It’s what we do,” he mumbled.
Hendery clapped him in the shoulder and made a face, wincing as though he’d smacked a wall. He shook his hand behind his back and sat next to Winwin, forcing you to sit beside Kun.
“It’s never easy, huh?” Hendery said, making conversation. “Even if you don’t know the person, I imagine it must be a taxing job.”
“It is.” Winwin blinked at him then turned to Kun. “Or am I wrong?”
Kun nodded. “It is taxing. Physically and emotionally.”
You made a face and titled your head at him. You were about to make a comment when you remembered that Hendery was with you. You glanced at him through your periphery and thought twice before outing your “companions” as machines.
Hendery wouldn’t be completely thrilled with interacting with automatons. And he would be rather peeved if he knew said automatons had been touching and moving his uncle’s personal belongings. To Hendery, it wasn’t a matter of liking or disliking him; it was a simple matter of trust. Years ago, when he was twelve, he’d almost drowned because of a “faulty ‘bot”. Ever since then he preferred to tread lightly around any and all machine that was capable of reaching a conclusion of and on its own.
“How long have you been working?”
“Hmm.” Kun raised an eyebrow, thinking. “Six months, give or take. I was just recently certified.”
Hendery pouted, nodding in approval. “That sounds like your hard work paid off.”
“I like to think it has.” Kun smiled. “As long as we ease the burden, I’m happy.”
Something flashed in Hendery’s eyes—confusion, suspicion, then realization—and his curiosity turned to apprehension. Something clicked in his head and you saw the exact moment it happened. Kun, despite all of his past attentive displays, failed to notice it. Winwin, on the other hand, hadn’t.
“Ease the burden?” Hendery repeated, eyes narrowed.
“Yeah, it’s our job as—”
Hendery’s face darkened. “Robots.”
“Automatons,” Winwin corrected. “Though the precise term is synthezoids.”
Kun made a sound between a grunt and groan and rubbed the bridge of his nose. You looked between Hendery and Winwin, unsure on how to interject or what to do. You had the feeling you’d only make it worse, escalate the situation until someone else had to intervene.
Then again, if you didn’t try to do something about it, you would never know unless you actually did something. So cleared your throat as loudly as possible to get their attention. Hendery and Winwin immediately turned to you while Kun glanced at you through his periphery.
“Now’s not the time to make a scene,” you muttered.
“You let them touch Uncle Wong’s things?” Hendery muttered back. A thought crossed his mind. “They threw away his stuff, didn’t they?”
Winwin shrugged. “Not everything.”
“You’re not helping, Winwin,” Kun mumbled through the side of his mouth. “This is between them.”
Hendery shook his head in disbelief. “I can hear you.”
“So can we.” Winwin blinked. “You’re not the only one with ears.”
“I think it’s about time we wrap this up!” You knocked on the table and stood up. “I’m gonna pay the bill and we’ll make ourselves scarce.”
Hendery opened his mouth to protest but you stared him down. He lifted both hands and leaned back. Kun shimmied his way out of the booth and stood beside you, reaching for his wallet.
“I’m gonna take care of our food and drinks. That’s, of course, if you don’t mind?”
You stared at him, unsure. “The least I can do is pay for both of you.”
“I’ll pay with the company card. They’ll just take it out of our pay. Don’t worry.” He smiled then sheepishly gave Hendery a glance. “We’ve done, er, enough.”
“I’ll take care of it.” You insisted as you took his wallet and tossed it at Winwin, who caught it and stashed it in his coverall. “It’ll be my treat.”
“I—” he began to say but you walked away without another word. Kun watched you go, perplexed. “Okay.”
●
“BELONGINGS,” SAID KUN, handing Hendery the yellow box. He handed you a tablet and muttered, “Signature, please and thank you.”
You read the document—basically agreeing that they had done their job and had been respectful, diligent, and ethical, and that you were satisfied with their service—and signed it without a second thought. You agreed. They had been respectful, diligent, and ethical, even if you still felt weird being around them.
Hendery looked over your shoulder as you gave your signature. He immediately cleared his throat and took a step back when you narrowed your eyes at him. He knew better than to get in the way of you handling things.
“That concludes our interaction.” Kun handed the table to Winwin. “I’m sorry for your loss.”
You nodded. “So am I.”
“That’s it?” Hendery piped up. “We cool?”
Kun nodded and bowed respectfully. “Yes, sir.”
You bowed back. “Thank you,” you whispered, the words falling off your mouth without thought or reason.
“For what?”
You blinked and your gaze fell on Winwin. He was staring back at you, curiosity gleaming in his eyes, head slightly tilted to the side. Hendery clicked his tongue at that and said something that sounded like he was saying goodbye. That, or he was cutting the conversation short. You couldn’t tell because you felt yourself move, your eyes leaving Winwin, briefly stopping on Kun, then leaving them altogether as you spun in their opposite direction.
Without realizing, you walked away from them.
For what?
The words echoed and lingered in your head for the rest of the day.
●
“UNFORTUNATELY, THIS IS where I leave you. Which is why I’m hoping that if you’re playing this back, it’s not in grief but in celebration,” said Uncle Wong, his voice slightly high-pitched due to the quality of the hologram. He sat there, three feet from you, shining in a blue-green hue, smiling that charming smile of his. “I thought I’d record a little farewell. We so rarely ever get a chance for closure.”
Uncle Wong sighed, his holographic presence freezing for a second. He looked his age, though he carried himself with an air of dignity that made him come across as someone who wasn’t afraid of or preoccupied with growing old. He crossed his legs and rubbed his left forearm. You felt the lump in your throat loose and give way to grief as you began to cry. The gesture, so subtle and simple, was characteristically his—a gesture of relief, acceptance, and grief.
More than once you’d seen him do that whenever he had received bad news or what had first been bad news turned out to be something bittersweet. Such a sigh had many meanings and you knew them all.
Beside you, Hendery reached out and took your hand in his; he gently squeezed it.
“This is one last hello,” he carried on, smiling ruefully. “One last goodbye. Cry if you must, but remember to smile. Not because you must pretend to be okay, but because I was there with you. Because without a little sadness, there can’t be a whole lot of happiness, y’know? Part of the journey is the end. Unfortunately, for better or worse, I’ve reached the end of my journey and I’ve enjoyed every second of it. So, folks, it’s your turn to do the same. Even if it doesn’t feel like it, everything is going to work out exactly the way it’s supposed to.”
Uncle Wong was looking right at you. Or so it seemed. It felt like he was talking to you and you alone, but you knew he was talking to everyone he knew and loved. He had always been kind. Such kindness had earned him the friendship, love, and respect of many, which explained why the funeral home was packed with familiar faces and other strangers you had only hoped to meet after hearing Uncle Wong’s anecdotes.
You closed your eyes and chuckled. Even in death, he was worrying about others. The thought struck you and made you fight tears. This man was selfless to the bitter(sweet) end.
“I’m fine. I’m totally fine.”
You caught a glimpse of Hendery tearing up. You squeezed his hand and rested your head on his shoulder. It took a second for him to rest his own head against yours. Uncle Wong cleared his throat and stood up, walking up to what had been the camera recording the message. He stopped and smiled, winking as he leaned forward.
“Chin up. Eyes forward.”
Before he turned off the holo-recorder, Uncle Wong teared up. His smile never wavered.
His last words were, “I love you.”
The rest of the funeral happened way faster than you expected. It seemed like you were on auto-mode, going through the motions: not really awake, though not quite asleep either. Hendery never left your side. That much you remembered. And for that you were grateful.

“ONCE UPON A time, I couldn’t come here without sneezing on the spot,” you told Taeil, smugly leaning on the counter. “But, whoa, now? This place is immaculate.”
Taeil choked on his coffee and flipped you off as he clapped his chest. He put his mug on the counter and stood up, checking himself for potential coffee stains. He sat back down, reached for his mug then stopped, as if considering whether or not to take another sip with you nearby. Ultimately, he relented and crossed his arms with a heavy, exasperated sigh.
“I love it when the clientele gives me shit about store maintenance,” he muttered, glowering at you. “Makes me feel so good about myself.”
“At least I’m not talking about your books . . .”
He rolled his eyes at you, throwing his head back and letting it hang on the chair’s headrest. “Thank goodness for small favors.”
“I haven’t been here since forever.” You leaned forward and wrapped your knuckles on a hardcover book he was reading. “What’s your secret?”
Taeil scoffed and sat straight, reaching for the book as he smacked your hand away. He placed a bookmark—he was halfway through it—and idly scratched his stubble, as if in deep thought. You stared him down and he looked away. A second later, he was walking past you, mug in hand, muttering to himself how he should have never told you to come by whenever you felt like it. You forgot just how nimble he was because when you turned he had reached the other side of the store and was mingling with a customer.
“You can’t avoid me forever,” you teased him.
He scoffed again. “I sure as hell can try.”
“I feel like you’re trying to hurt me.” You squinted, pouting as if to further display your accusation.
Taeil cracked a half-smile. “Maybe I’m trying to get you home ‘cause you spend too much time here.”
“I don’t.”
“Oh, then why does it feel like you’ve been here forever?”
You smacked his shoulder. An expletive escaped his lips prompting him to massage the sore spot, bow, and apologize to a customer. As soon as the customer was out of sight, he whirled on you and flicked on you on the forehead. It had been unexpected thus you barely reacted to it beyond blinking at him in disbelief; he’d been gentle, which, based on personal experience, had done purely for shock value.
“Got any books in mind or are you going to follow me around all day like a needy puppy?”
“Just meeting with someone.” You smiled and leaned on him. “C’mon, you enjoy my company.”
“I’d rather have Hendery spacing out than being stuck with you.”
You gasped, feigning offense. “Take that back.”
Taeil chuckled, shaking his head. He leaned on you and rested his head on your shoulder, poking your love handles as a small giggle escaped out of you. He had picked that up from Uncle Wong. You thought no one would ever do that again yet here was Taeil surprising you, and reminding you that you could still find comfort in moments that reminded your uncle.
“I’m pulling your leg.” Taeil took your hand and squeezed it. He smiled, blinked, then returned to his usual aloof self. Despite the sudden change in demeanor, you saw a glint of empathy in his eyes. “How are you?”
“I’m—er—surviving.” You pursed your lips. After a moment of silence, you added, “But okay, y’know? One day at a time.”
He nodded, smiling ruefully. “And Hendery? I heard he’s moving back.”
“He’s alright.” You gave a small nod. “And, yeah, as matter of fact we’re scouting for apartments. I’m supposed to meet him here but he’s late . . . again.”
Taeil shrugged, as if to say it is what it is. He ran a hand through his auburn hair and squinted like someone being struck by an idea.“I know someone who’s looking for roommates. Though, to be honest, I dunno if Hendery would move in with him.”
You tilted your head, curious. “And . . . why not?”
Taeil looked around, pointed to a spot behind right ear lobe with his thumb, and leaned in to whisper, “He’s a ‘bot, y’know?”
“Oh.”
“And knowing Hendery, I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t agree to that.”
You nodded dejectedly. Part of you thought he’d say yes if it meant he wouldn’t have to pay a lot on rent, but another part of you knew that wouldn’t be enough for him to share a living space with something he wasn’t entirely comfortable with. You’d just have to keep looking until you struck gold.
“Where does he live?”
Taeil idly pointed at the window behind you. You followed his index finger and noticed that the building opposite the bookstore had been renovated with a minimalist façade. It was painted in pastel colors and it came across as a welcoming place to live in. From where you stood, you could see the lobby and one of the tenants walking in.
“About four months ago, someone bought the place. Turned into an apartment complex in the blink of an eye.”
“And your roommate-seeking friend lives there?”’
“Yup.” Taeil nodded, looking just as impressed as you. “It’s an inclusive kind of place. Expensive-looking but affordable.”
You raised an eyebrow, intrigued. “Really?”
“I thought about moving in but I’m not keen on sharing an apartment with Ten.”
“With who?”
“I’ve been summoned,” said a silky voice that came from behind you, almost leaning on your right shoulder.
Taeil blinked, his lips pursed into a thin line. He slowly turned to someone “Speak of mischief and it shall arrive,” he muttered, doing his best not to roll his eyes. “Ten meet a friend of mine.”
You turned, blinked, and gaped at the young man before you. You introduced yourself, the words coming out of your mouth, but nothing really was being processed. You were too drawn in to pay attention to yourself. He was handsome with a smooth and slightly tan complexion, black hair streaked with blond highlights, and dark eyes that had an alluring gleam to them. He was lean, casually dressed, and offering a friendly, if awkward smile.
“I’m VWAY.AI-MDL: LC-27296, but you can call me Ten,” he said, outstretching his right hand as he took a step forward to be near but not in your personal space. You reached out and slowly shook his hand. “Are you looking for an apartment?”
“I—er—my friend and I are, yeah.”
“Oh?” He tilted his head to the side, as if thinking. As he blinked at you, you noticed the artificial gleam around his iris; it gave away his true nature as an LSM product. He smiled, though this time it was a genuine smile. “Though it’s a spacious apartment, we would have to share rooms. I don’t know if that’s okay with you.”
You popped your lips, nodding. “I’d have to talk it out with my friend.”
“As long as it’s before the end of the week, I agree with that decision.”
“Hey, bud,” Taeil muttered, widening his eyes at him, “remember to be tactful.”
Ten blinked once, twice, then nodded. The gesture was stiff, as though he was used to hearing the suggestion but not paying much attention to it.
“I say this, of course, because there is already someone who has shown interest in moving in.”
“Oh?” you and Taeil chorus, surprised at his casual tone.
“Yes.” Ten shrugged. “With that said, allow me to practice being tactful.”
You gaped at him then shook your head, mumbling, “What?”
“I apologize. I’m trying to not be so blunt. It’s a pain, of course, because people love to, as they say, beat around the bush and I don’t.”
“Ten—er—Ten—”
“Thus why I’d prefer if you—”
“Ten, please, shut up—”
“—give me an answer before the end of the week.”
Taeil sighed, burying his face in his hands.
“Are you okay?” Ten asked him.
“Never been better.” Taeil rubbed his face, groaned at the ceiling, then snapped his fingers. “Say, buddy, why don’t you help Émi in the back? She’s supposed to be opening some boxes before she puts some new books on the display window.”
Ten nodded, took a step forward, then whirled on both of you. He pointed an accusatory finger, squinting as if something clicked in his head. “You’re trying to stop me from further embarrassing you,” he said in a soft, but exasperated tone.
Taeil dramatically laid a hand on his chest. “I’d never!” he exclaimed, slowly raising his hand to point towards the back of the store. “Back. Now.”
As Ten waved a hand and shook his head, Taeil mumbled something (“Please and thank you!”) and turned to you.
“Where the hell’s Hendery?”
“I don’t—”
As if on cue, the door swung open. A bell rang to announce the arrival of new guests. You both turned, walked back to the counter, and saw Hendery entering. He was scowling—and he wasn’t alone. Behind him, looking like a lost puppy following someone willing to show him kindness, was Winwin. He was wearing casual clothes—and he seemed leaner than last time you saw him—and had, somehow, grown his hair; though he kept it under a bucket hat, you could tell it was also no longer black but light brown.
“Tell me you see him, too,” said Hendery through the side of his mouth, “and that I’m not going insane.”
“See who?” you asked, concealing a smirk.
“Him.” Hendery pointed at Winwin with a tilt of his head. “The ‘bot.”
Winwin blinked, stirred from his reverie. He had been looking around, not really paying attention to anyone but the store’s interior. Now that he’d been directly addressed, he was side-eyeing Hendery with a confused, if slightly offended expression.
“Synthezoid,” Winwin corrected, stressing the word as he unconsciously scratched the back of his right ear. “I’m not a robot.”
Hendery clicked his tongue. “Semantics.”
Winwin looked like he was going to further protest but he merely rolled his eyes and muttered, “Not even close.”
“Fancy seeing you here,” you said, eyeing Winwin with a small smile.
Winwin blinked. There was recognition in his eyes and you saw a hint of his smile upon his lips. He stiffened then loosened up as he stuffed his hands in his jean’s pockets.
“Nothing fancy about it. Going to stores is free. Until you purchase something, of course.”
You chuckled. Taeil gave you and Winwin a cursory glance and cleared his throat, walking up to Hendery and resting a palm on his shoulder.
“I heard you two were looking for an apartment,” he said, subtly pulling Hendery away. “I know a guy, but, y’know, he’s a—er—synthezoid.”
“What—why—no.” Hendery shook his head. “I’m not moving—”
“You see that building? Nice place, right? That’s where he lives.”
“I don’t—wait—that’s a nice looking place.”
“I know.” Taeil linked his hand through Hendery’s arm, walking further into the store. He glanced over his shoulder and winked.
“You work here?” you heard Winwin ask.
“I—” You started then shook your head, smiling. “Taeil’s a friend. I come around to annoy him.”
He squinted. “And that’s not a job?”
You scoffed. “If it were, I’d be well-off, y’know? Financially speaking.”
He nodded. “Stability.”
You nodded back, chuckling. “Yeah.”
“Where’s Kun?”
“I don’t know.” Winwin looked past the display window. Even as he turned and met your eyes, he looked pensive. “It’s our day off yet he always finds an excuse to do something. He knows a lot of people that ask him for help so I assume he probably volunteered to do something.”
“Can’t stay still, huh?”
“He can’t.”
“And you?”
Winwin shrugged, lips pursed into a thin, thoughtful line. “I still don’t know. I’m still learning how to just—” he paused, eyes narrowing then widening in uncertainty, “—exist.”
“Whoa. That’s some existential dread I don’t need.”
“Neither do I.”
You smiled at how honest yet sheepish his answer was.
“What brings you here?”
“Beyond wanting to do some research and fulfill some personal errands , I came across Hendery on my way here. I’d say it was rather serendipitous but he wasn’t happy to see me.”
“He didn’t say anything, y’know, rude to you?”
“Nothing that I care to remember.” Winwin shrugged again, realized he had done it, then shook his shoulders, as if to repel any recurrence in his body language. As he did so, he cleared his throat. “How are you?”
The question surprised you. Not because he asked, but how he’d asked it. In the past four months, other people had asked just to gauge your reaction or because they remembered and wanted to immediately let you know they were sorry. The question wasn’t to appease any sense of guilt or caress his egos. Winwin sounded sincere. No, you realized, he was being sincere. You didn’t know how to react beyond ruefully smiling at him and gently shaking your head, raising a hand as if to say it is what is and despite it all here I am.
“I’ve been better,” you said, shrugging. “I miss him, y’know. And yet life goes on.”
Winwin stared. His face was hard to read, but you noticed the empathy—real or programmed—in his eyes.
“I’m sorry to hear that.”
“Not your fault.”
“It’s an intriguing paradox.” He looked around the shop, taking in the books near him. “How grief elicits such an emotional response, wouldn’t you agree?”
You tilted your head, confused. He noticed and pursed his lips, as though thinking how to put it plainly. It seemed a thought struck him because a small, if sheepish smile tugged at his lips. When he spoke, he met your eyes. You noticed for the first time the artificial gleam in his irises. Somehow, you weren’t unnerved by it. There was some essence of humanity in his eyes, and you wondered whether or not it had been there before.
“Losing someone can cause grief. Yet grief’s not a wholly negative emotion.”
That struck you not only as odd but as slightly offensive. How could he know that? He himself had admitted he didn’t need to mourn because he didn’t have anything to grieve for. The words had initially pissed you off, but he was right. Machines weren’t emotional; they were logical, precise, unfeeling. But here he was, staring, saying grief wasn’t all that bad.
“How can it not be? Grief is pain.”
“Yes, but not for the reasons you might think.”
You raised a hand and dramatically waved it at him, like a condescending adult telling a child to impart their misguided beliefs or flawed logic. “Okay, Plato, go on . . .”
“Grief is pain, yes, but only because it’s a reminder of what was lost. In your reminiscence, you find yourself lacking a voice, a presence, a touch. That’s why it hurts. It’s the affection—the love—one felt for someone that can never be replaced or shared with or poured into them again. It’s love remembering something so important to you that it lingers, echoing within until it transforms into, well, grief.”
Everything you had bottled up for the past four months was beginning to reach a boiling point. The dam was threatening to break and flood everything in its wake and yet . . . you felt relieved because something clicked in your mind, in your heart, that reminded you that it was okay to mourn. You had felt it was necessary to project strength not for yourself but for others; to let them know you were okay.
The truth was that you had been pretending you were quietly and peacefully coping to avoid confronting the truth. That you were afraid that this grief that hadn’t left you and only clung to you like a sickness was going to drown you, that you would never move on, that you would be stuck in the past with only your sadness to accompany you.
“I miss him,” you whispered, the words flowing out of you. “I miss and I don’t know if I’ll ever stop missing him.”
Winwin stared then took a step forward. You saw him approach, torn between telling him to back off or closing the distance and asking him to let you rest your head on his shoulder. You lowered your head, sighing and fighting back tears.
“I’m sorry. It’s not appropriate.”
“Because we’re in a bookshop?”
“No,” you chuckled, “because it’s not normal to cry in public.”
“And crying in private is?” Winwin looked thoughtful. “Is that appropriate?”
“Kind of.” You lowered your gaze. “At the very least it’s socially accepted to cry in private.”
He slowly raised his head, as if understanding what you meant. “Ah,” he whispered. “Making a note of that.”
“Why would you make a—never mind.”
“I apologize if I made you feel uncomfortable or upset you.”
“You didn’t.”
“Are you sure?”
You nodded, sniffing, smiling through the tears that were now overwhelming you.
“Very,” you whispered.
“It’s ironic that I’m speaking of such a sensitive topic, but I want you to know that you’re not alone.” Winwin lowered his gaze. You noticed he was fidgeting with his hands, as if he didn’t know what to do. “And, I know, it’s especially ironic that I say this since I lack a family or close acquaintances, but it’s important and necessary to be reminded that life is more than the sorrow one endures in times like these.”
“And you know this how?”
“It can’t all be sorrow, right? I’ve always been alone. I’ve always been an observer. And in all the time that I’ve been active, I’ve seen happiness and sorrow and realized there can’t be one without the other.”
“Balance,” you muttered.
“Balance,” he repeated, nodding. “I may not feel the absence of a loved one—for I lack loved ones to mourn—but I understand the sentiment. Life is fragile and it can change at any moment. That’s why it hurts so much.”
Winwin offered his right hand, smiling a sad, small smile. “Grief is nothing but love reminding you of something so beautiful, so meaningful, so unique, that you can longer bask yourself in its presence. It’s love persevering above all things.”
You took his hand in yours and felt how warm and gentle they were. He caressed your knuckles with his thumb then gave a soft squeeze. Before you noticed, he had let go and his hands were back in his pockets.
“You’ll be okay.” He nodded. “Give it time.”
“Thank you.”
His eyes widened and a look of confusion was briefly present in his eyes.
“For what?”
“For being kind.” You shrugged. “For being understanding.”
“Ah,” he muttered again.
You chuckled. He looked adorable when he tilted his head slightly back, eyes widening then narrowing as he seemed to be learning something and committing it to memory.
“Going to make a note of that, too?”
“Perhaps.”
“I’ll take that as a yes.”
“If it helps you, please, by all means do.”
You shook your head, chuckling. He stared, his expression hard to read, though his eyes were friendly, understanding. An idea popped in your head. Part of you wanted to ignore it; the other half wasn’t going to.
“Hey,” you said, “at the risk of sounding desperate for company, would you like to grab lunch sometime?”
“I assume we’d be consuming said lunch.”
“That’s how it works, yeah.”
Winwin hummed like he was considering it. He tilted his head to the side, shrugged, and nodded.
“I appreciate and accept your invitation.”
You smiled. After a moment, he did, too. There was a knock on the entrance door. You both turned to see Kun clad in a coverall smeared by white and blue paint; even his hands and bits of his forehead had blotches of dry paint. He waved at Winwin, realized you were there, and gave a rather enthusiastic wave that made you both chuckle and inwardly groan.
“Duty calls, I presume.”
“Apparently.” Winwin looked between Kun and you then raised a hand, as if to say give me a second. He reached into his wallet, pulled a translucent business card, and offered it to you. “To keep contact.”
You looked at the card and whistled. “Impressive.”
“Everyone seems to think so,” he replied, half-smiling. His expression shifted to a solemn one as he offered his hand yet again. “Unfortunately, this is where I leave you.”
The words were familiar. Four months ago, you would have stilled and felt like crying. But now—after everything he said, after realizing it was okay to admit to yourself that wounds like these took tiem to properly heal—you felt relieved that you could think of Uncle Wong and not be overwhelmed by sadness.
“Until Friday, that is,” you said, flicking the business card between your fingers.
He nodded and bowed. “Until then.”
●
“YOU ONCE SAID we didn’t work for a living,” said Winwin, unconsciously frowning.
Kun blinked then nodded. “I did.”
“Is that true?”
“Sort of.”
“That’s not a very satisfactory answer.”
“Answers rarely are.”
Winwin rolled his eyes.
“Being obtuse won’t stop me from asking questions.”
Kun snapped his fingers, feigning exasperation. “Damn,” he muttered, “and here I was thinking that if I obtuse I’d slowly erode and destroy your curiosity.”
“Never mind.”
“I’m just kidding.” Kun chuckled. “We sort of do, y’know? Our programming allows us to effectively do our job. Our experiences, on the other hand, allow us to exist, to live, as humans do.”
“That’s all I want.”
“I know, buddy. That’s why we sort of work for a living. We work to ease the burden. In between all that, we grow and learn and come to understand what makes life so fascinating.”
“Hmm.” Winwin scratched his right ear. “So we’re more than just machines?”
“I like to think we are. I mean . . . we’re capable of growth. That has to mean something.”
“Then I choose to exist.”
Kun laughed and clapped, celebrating the moment of independence and self-discovery. There was an affectionate gleam in his eyes as he engulfed Winwin in a side hug, who couldn’t help but smile.
Winwin thought back to winter and how he hadn’t felt the cold. Cold was cold, he thought. It never bothered him. Not unless he allowed it to.
Perhaps, when the next winter came, he would.

nct love language, please? 🥺❤️
𝐍𝐂𝐓 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 - their love language
𝚠𝚘𝚛𝚍𝚜 𝚘𝚏 𝚊𝚏𝚏𝚒𝚛𝚖𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗 — taeyong, yuta, mark, yangyang
taeyong knows you better than you know yourself. he can sense when you’re upset from a mile away, and when he does, he’s at your side in a second. he’ll hold you tightly and kiss your temple, reminding you that things always get better, that this moment will pass.
yuta has such a way with words. he knows exactly what to say to give you comfort. if you’re having a hard time, he’ll just pull you into his arms and talk to you until you fall asleep, running his hand up and down your back.
mark writes on sticky notes. you’d wake up and find them on the mirror with things like “you look beautiful today” or in your bag with “you are the strongest person i know.” it was his top priority to make sure you felt good about yourself.
yangyang brags. a lot. his way of showing love is telling others how amazing you are with every chance he gets. most of the time, he doesn’t even realize he’s going on and on about you until one of the members groans as the déjà vu kicks in.
𝚙𝚑𝚢𝚜𝚒𝚌𝚊𝚕 𝚝𝚘𝚞𝚌𝚑 — jungwoo, lucas, donghyuck, jaemin, shotaro
jungwoo is a cuddle bug. every morning the two of you find yourselves tightly pressed to each other. he gives you massages when your body aches, rubs lotion on your legs when you are too lazy to do it. you are his top priority always.
lucas is more bold than others. he’d have his hand resting on your lower back, probably a little too close to your butt, and not think twice about it. it was something he did nonchalantly. he just loves skinship and finds comfort holding you close by his side.
donghyuck is a handsy man. it’s never sexual or anything, but he is always touching your thighs or waist. just the feeling of your warm skin on his palms relaxes him. whether it’s public or not, he definitely shows his love by having his hands on you.
jaemin is all over you all the time. he loves to bombard you with hugs and kisses, never going a day without them. even when you’re in the shower, he’ll poke his head in just so you can give him a kiss. he’s clingy, but in a way that you know it’s all out of pure adornment.
shotaro acts in small touches. little grazes of your hands when walking side-by-side, laying his head on your shoulder when driving in the car, playing with your fingers when he gets nervous. he’s not too keen on pda but has himself wrapped around your body when lying in bed together.
𝚐𝚒𝚟𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚐𝚒𝚏𝚝𝚜 — doyoung, ten, hendery, chenle, jisung
doyoung doesn’t even try to be subtle anymore. the second you say you like something, it’s bought. the amount of times you’ve come home to boxes piled up on the front porch is ridiculous. he just loves spoiling the one he loves.
ten notices the way you take second glances at something, or how you linger over an item for a while, and immediately knows he has to buy it. once you walk away, he’ll quickly call over an employee and have them hold it at the checkout desk until you’re done.
hendery likes to surprise you with things you don’t necessarily need. there was one time you came home and he had the entire kitchen table covered in face masks and night creams. or another time, he proudly explained to you that he found you a mickey mouse rice cooker; as if you’d been searching for it.
chenle takes notice of the small things like when you pass by a store window and spot something you like. he would go back that same day and buy it as a little surprise. or when you casually talk about a new movie coming out, he would take you to the premiere.
jisung isn’t always good with words, especially when it comes to you. so giving gifts was his way of showing love. even when him and chenle made keychains for the members, he was sure to include you, giving a little bit of extra love into that specific one.
𝚚𝚞𝚊𝚕𝚒𝚝𝚢 𝚝𝚒𝚖𝚎 — taeil, winwin, xiaojun, renjun, jeno
taeil loves having you over at the dorms. even when the other members try stealing you away, which they do often, he doesn’t seem to mind. his busy schedule got in the way most of the time so whenever he was free, you were the first person he’d call.
winwin could literally sit in silence with you and be the happiest man; and that’s what the two of you do most of the time. you would be sitting on the couch, playing on your phone and he would have his head in your lap, doing the same thing. the silence was never awkward, just peaceful and inviting.
xiaojun considered date nights the highlight of his days. it wasn’t often that he had free time, but when he did, the two of you would explore the city together. he’d make sure the hold you near, physical touch being a close second on his love language list.
renjun loves to paint with you. whether you are good or not, he just enjoys being in your presence. you’d be sitting in his lap, fingering painting and both of you laughing at how horrible it looked. he’d be sure to hang it up next to his bed though, having it be the last thing he looks at before falling asleep.
jeno could spend the rest of his life, laying in bed with you, if he could. there was no need for going out of extravagant dates (though, he still takes you on those occasionally). there was something about staring up at the ceiling, talking about your guys’ day that had him perfectly content.
𝚊𝚌𝚝𝚜 𝚘𝚏 𝚜𝚎𝚛𝚟𝚒𝚌𝚎 — johnny, kun, jaehyun, sungchan
all of these men have husband/boyfriend material written all over them.
johnny does the simple yet helpful things like making the bed in the morning, picking up milk on the way home because he noticed it ran out before you did. you didn’t say it as often as you should, but you were so grateful for everything he does.
kun cooks. all the time. it doesn’t seem like a big deal to him, but for you, coming home from a rough day to find dinner already made eases your stress. he always makes sure you have at least one decent meal, knowing you probably aren’t eating properly any other time.
jaehyun helps you with self-care. it can get difficult at times for you to look after yourself so he takes matters into his own hands: brushing your hair, carrying you to bed when you fall asleep on the couch again, making sure you have food in your system before heading out for the day.
sungchan carries everything for you. if you’re out shopping, buying things on impulse as always, he makes sure to load the bags on his arms so you don’t have to. or when you come home from grocery shopping, he’s running outside to gather the bags from the car and take them in.

Conflicted
warnings: none
era: August 2021
❀ Lucas doesn’t know how to feel when JiHo doesn’t have eyes for only him
“He-ey!” JiHo greeted with a grunt as she threw herself on the couch. Lucas, who was peacefully sitting next to her, jumped slightly at the sudden appearance of the girl. He didn’t know she was coming over that day.
A bright smile started to form on his lips as he pulled JiHo closer to him, his arms having a strong grip around JiHo’s smaller waist. “Hi~ I didn’t know you were coming over.” The girl struggled in his grasp, trying to sit up straight from the awkward position Lucas was holding her in, but the boy didn’t budge. “I’m here pretty much all the time, I don’t get why you’re surprised.” She smirked. A smirk that Lucas quickly mirrored. “I know you miss me when you’re not here, but you don’t have to be here all the time.” “Well actually, I’m not here for you.” She murmured, still trying to get out of his hold.
Lucas’ smile faded slightly at the words. He couldn’t help but feel a bit disappointed, but he knew that JiHo would’ve messaged him if she wanted to hang out. Even after the countless amounts of times he told her she didn’t have to text him before she visited, JiHo just didn’t want to risk coming over and finding out no one was at the dorm. If she came over and found that Lucas wasn’t present, but someone else was, she wouldn’t mind. But the one time she didn’t text him and came all the way over to WayV’s dorm, only for the doors to remain closed in front of her, she made it a habit to always send a notice to Lucas or the other boys.
It didn’t register to Lucas that JiHo had slipped from his arms, that unconsciously had loosened after her last comment. She was now sitting up on the couch, back facing Lucas. “Who are you here for th-“ “Oh Hendery!”
JiHo’s face broke into a big grin as she spotted Hendery who had just walked into the living room. At least that’s what she thought. Hendery had heard the commotion from the hallway and didn’t want to interrupt, so he quietly made his way towards the kitchen, passing the living room, once Lucas and JiHo’s chatter started to die down. She hadn’t notice Hendery was there pretty much the whole time.
At the mention of his name Hendery’s eyes widened. He tried his hardest not to stutter as he asked JiHo what was up, but he miserably failed as he struggled with each syllable.
The red hue that displayed on his cheeks made JiHo chuckle. “I uhm… I wanted to ask if you’re down to go skateboarding again.” She began, her confident façade quickly crumbling and showing her true awkwardness. “I know last time didn’t go so well. So I thought maybe this time-“ “Sure!”
Hendery wanted to slap himself at how eager he sounded. He didn’t know why he was so excited to go skateboarding. It wasn’t like he really cared for the activity that much. Maybe – very likely actually – it was because JiHo was the one asking him?
The boy coughed a bit, trying to regain his composure. “I mean, yeah I’d like to go skateboarding again.” In his head, Hendery gave himself a small pat on the back for not sounding too excited this time. JiHo smiled and opened her mouth to speak when Lucas suddenly entered himself into the conversation. “Didn’t you get hurt last time though?”
Lucas mentally punch himself when JiHo turned to him with her big innocent eyes. She seemed a little lost giving Lucas the urge to coddle her and call her cute, but this wasn’t the time for that. “Your knee? Didn’t you guys fall last time? And you hurt your knee.” His tone was almost like he was scolding her. And instead of JiHo looking upset or sorry, she just grinned brightly at the boy. “That’s just a part of skateboarding. You fall. You hurt yourself. You get up and try again. Don’t worry about it.” She patted Lucas’ shoulder and stood up from the couch.
“So Hen-“ “Don’t they make like… knee pads! Don’t you have knee pads to protect yourself?” JiHo sighed and rolled her eyes playfully. “Sure, those exist yeah, but I don’t have any.”
This time Lucas jumped up from the couch, patting his jeans pockets for his phone or wallet. “What are you doing?” “Let’s go buy you some.” He turned and smiled at the smaller girl. “I don’t want you getting hurt.” JiHo tried to keep down her laugh as she watched Lucas use his charms on her. “Hey Casanova. Forget it.” She pushed Lucas back down on the couch. The suppressed laugh finally spilling from her lips, contagious enough to make Lucas laugh as well.
“I’ll be fine. I’m not planning to skate much, I’ll just be teaching Hendery. Besides, I’m pretty sure the skate shop is closed.” The two stare at each other for a few more seconds. Lucas felt his heart beat faster once he became awfully aware of JiHo’s hands that were still pressed against his chest. And he wondered if JiHo was just as affected by it as he was or if she could feel his raising heartbeat against her palms. But when she stood up, seemingly unbothered, and turned to face their friend again, he realised, “Oh yeah… It’s just a me thing”.
“Hendery?” JiHo tried to catch his eyes, which seemed to be locked on Lucas for just a split second. He snapped out of his trance and looked at the girl. “You ready?” “I don’t have a board though.” “Don’t worry, you can use mine.” She smiled to assure him. “Okay let’s go then.” Hendery started to make his way to the door to put on his shoes when JiHo turned back to Lucas one more time. “Bye! See you later!”
Lucas waved back at JiHo who already disappeared behind the wall. A heavy sigh escaped his lungs and he sank himself further into the couch. Bella, who had been watching everything since JiHo had oh-so-kindly ruined her nap time, waddled into Lucas’ lap. “Did you see all of that?” As if Bella knew what Lucas was saying she looked up at him with her big dark eyes. “Your eyes remind me of hers.” The boy brought his hand up to pet the cute dog. “She looked at me just the same way, just like a cute puppy.”
It took a few seconds for Lucas to realise what he was saying. “Am I really comparing you two? AGH! What’s wrong with me? And now I’m talking to you about her, as if you’d understand.” He sighed for the nth time. It was silent for a while, but Bella’s piercing stare on him made him talk. “Do you think she likes me?” He shook his head in response to his own question. “JiHo would never like someone like me. She just feels comfortable around me, that’s all. And we work together, I shouldn’t be thinking like this either way.”
Lucas watched as Bella finally lay down on his lap, quickly falling back asleep. Lucas just absentmindedly continued to pat Bella’s fur, most likely offering himself just as much comfort as the action was giving Bella. “It’s just that dumb “curse” or whatever… I’ll get over it… Right? One day it will go away.” He looked back at Bella. “Right?”

Goretober D14: Reality Check - Hendery
Navigation
Goretober 2021 Masterlist
NCT Masterlist
Pairing: Hendery x Single Parent! GN Reader (Not explicitly romantic or anything)
Genre: Suspense? Thriller?
Summary: You were certain your son was just doing something kids normally did, have an imaginary friend. Only what happens when that friend turns out to be real?
Warnings: Serial killer themes, murder, cursing, blood.
Word Count: 707
Daehyun’s favorite place to be was outside. Something that you made sure to always encourage him to continue to do, loving how you could look out into the little patch of green behind your home and watch him run around radiating pure joy. Since moving into this new home he had created a new friend to play with. Someone named Hendery would visit him when he played outside. To begin with, you had been concerned, but after checking around there were no signs of anyone having been around your home. Plus your son told you that Hendery was his secret friend, leading you to the conclusion that it was a harmless imaginary friend who he spent time with when he was playing alone.
Until his sixth birthday party when all the kids came inside talking about playing with Hendery, your fears coming to light again. Children don’t share imaginary friends, so who was this person that was sneaking around with your son? How could you be sure that your family was safe when you couldn’t even figure out who your son was spending time with? There really wasn’t much you could do today though, simply keeping everyone inside until the others went home and then sending Daehyun to bed.
The next day when he came home from school, you stopped him before he could slip outside, “Hey bud, I was wondering if I could finally meet Hendery?”
“Um, I don’t know...lemme ask!” Daehyun beams, squirming out of your arms and racing outside before you could stop him again. Leaving you to peek out the door in case you needed to rush out and grab your son. Your son calling to his friend from the backyard, a head soon popping up over the fence.
“Hey, Daehyun! Did you just get back from school?” The man asks, not yet noticing you slip outside to join your son.
“Yeah. Can I ask you if - oh.” Your son pauses looking up at you before he can finish speaking.
“Hi. I’m Y/N. Daehyun is my son.” You explain, causing him to smile and over you his hand over the fence.
“Hi, Y/N nice to meet you. I’m Hendery. Sorry, I probably should have introduced myself when I started hanging out with Daehyun. I’ve only played through the fence though. He’s just so excitable I couldn’t help myself.” Hendery admits with a small blush and you feel yourself easing up some around your flustered neighbor.
“It’s fine...I guess I just didn’t realize you were...well real...”You admit, flustering a little yourself with the admission.
Time passed and with it, you grew closer to Hendery as well. The man now coming over the fence to play with your son more often than not. Coming to get you while carrying your son if he fell and got hurt. Or offering you sweets when he came to visit. A bond formed between the three of you and you found that you were all together far more than you were apart.
Startling awake one moment hearing a crash by the front door. You leap out of bed, silently checking on Daehyun to make sure he was sleeping safely in his room before going to check out the door. Opening it to find Hendery standing over a body, hands bloody.
“Hendery?...What the fuck?” You gasp quietly, causing him to turn towards you. His hands are grabbing your biceps.
“Listen to me Y/N. He was trying to break into your house, I was just trying to protect you and Daehyun.” Hendery explains, and you find yourself believing him with a soft nod.
“Okay, let’s....we’ll call the police and you can tell them.” You try, only for his grip to tighten some.
“No Y/N you can’t...there are some things I’ve done that aren’t quite legal...they don’t have a way to connect me to that though. If you call them they will and I’ll never have my life back. I’ll take care of this. I just need you to keep quiet and trust me, okay?” Hendery inquires, a dangerous glint in his eyes as he looks into yours, waiting for a reply that never comes. He shakes you gently to get you out of your head, “Okay?”
“Yeah...yeah, okay. I’ll keep quiet.”

For @jeongyoonohs sorry it took me so long to finish this :( But this is for you!
OPENING
Once upon a time, in a kingdom not so far away, ruled by a king and queen who can’t have a baby no matter how many times they’ve tried. The sad news spread all over the kingdom and caused chaos everywhere mainly because they were scared for the fall of their beloved kingdom.
But the king is wise. He made an alliance with the kingdom of his truest friend and together they helped each other’s kingdom by making an agreement. “I can’t have a child, but my queen and I have decided to adopt a baby girl,” the king says to his fellow king.
“And my wife is carrying a baby boy”
“It’s settled then. My adopted daughter will be arranged with your son, and someday be married to each other” They shook hands and made the agreement official by sealing it with their signatures and royal seals in front of their queens.
The kingdom that lost their trust with their king is now calmed relieved after hearing the great news of the two kingdoms having an alliance. And to fully earned their trust again, they searched far and wide for a baby girl that will soon be the future of their kingdom.
“And that baby girl is you my darling” your grandfather finishes his bedtime story to you. Caging you in his strong arms, cradling you like you’re truly related by blood. “Grow up as a fine woman and save this kingdom” he added. You embraced your grandfather back and smiled so sweetly at him, tracing his handsome features… then you remembered.
“Tell me the story about the Nutcracker prince,” you singsong to him. He doesn’t tell you the original story, but instead, he always tells you his version and it’s always better. His embrace became tighter, then he looked at his expensive watch to check how many minutes does he have left.
“Okay. I only have a few minutes left, princess” He started by introducing the Nutcracker prince to you which is actually magical because even though you’ve heard of this so many times it never gets old and you’re always excited to hear it again.
He described the prince as a soldier like him, but a younger version he says with a giggle. And that Nutcracker slash prince slash soldier is made specifically for you so that one day, the two of you can rule two kingdoms all at once. “Why do I need a prince?” you pout, and your grandfather is startled by your question.
“Well, jeez, I don’t know. I’m sure you can still be a fine queen without a prince, right?” he says while tucking you in and preparing you for bed. “But let’s just say that princesses like you need a proper man like the Nutcracker because… grandfather will not always be by your side” of course he can’t mention death to you, no, you’re too young to know about these things. So he kissed you goodnight on your forehead and promise to see you early in the morning again.
Growing up as an adopted princess was never easy because the eyes of a judging kingdom have always been against you and your family. That’s why as you grow up, you swore to yourself that you will prove them wrong and that you are the future of this kingdom. At a very young age, you made your parents proud of your gift of leadership and continue to make them proud by doing great in school.
Until one day, the queen finally got pregnant.
The kingdom became so busy about the queen’s pregnancy and literally, every person is excited about your baby sister. You were only nine years old and you were innocent as you can be so you don’t know that the attention is slowly shifting to your baby sister. You didn’t mind of course, again, you were just a kid. But as you grew older and older you can finally foresee a life behind the shadow of your baby sister. The real princess. It’s like she took everything from you… but whenever you remember that you’re adopted, it seems like she’s just taking what’s originally hers in the first place.
Today is your thirteenth birthday and you celebrated it with your grandfather in an amusement park. He is the only person left in your life who can see you as a rare gem and you’re thankful for him. As you walked around the busy park, with a few bodyguards on your sides, you and your grandfather laugh and laugh while you’re eating hotdogs on a stick.
“Your father told me that you refused to have a ball for your thirteenth birthday? Why?” he asked while enjoying his food.
“I’m not a real princess grandfather, I don’t deserve a ball. And besides, riding that scary rollercoaster is better than dancing with a bunch of princes whom I don’t know in the first place, and playing dress-up the whole night”
“Hmm. Don’t you say that you’re not a real princess, there was a Y/n before your baby sister. And the kingdom is still looking forward with you ruling us someday because you’re older than your sister and you’re still a legi-“
“timate daughter, I know, I understand grandfather thank you for reminding me” you wiped the ketchup on his lips and smiled at him, “What will I do without you? I hope that my Nutcracker prince is exactly like you. Wise and strong”
“Don’t worry about that darling, you’re still young, and I’m still here” he giggles and walks you towards that scary rollercoaster ride.
ACT 1
Things slowly change around the castle and you learned to distant yourself from your parents but not forgetting your duty as a first born and legitimate adopted daughter of the king and queen. And as you enter royal high school, you thought that your life will get uglier but no. Surprisingly, school made you feel alive and less of a princess and more like a future leader.
But most importantly, you finally met your Nutcracker. Prince Hendery.
Usually, prince and princesses meet for the first time during a royal ball, soiree, or a simple lunch at the palace’s garden grounds. But you and Prince Hendery, met in the school hallway for the first first time. It is as if your whole world slowed down, every student walked in slow motion while you and Hendery locked eyes on each other. And the best part is, he did not know that you’re the princess who’s meant to be forever with him.
At first, you don’t talk to each other and just simply exchange smiles and glances from time to time whenever you cross paths in the hallway, eating at the cafeteria, or ‘reading’ at the library. You thought it wasn’t fair that you know everything about him but he doesn’t even know what you look like.
“You know I’ve been flirting with this princess for months already, do you know her name?” Hendery whispers at his fellow prince, Xiaojun, and told him to take a look at where you’re seated. Xiaojun then scoffed at his friend and playfully slapped Hendery’s face knowing that he is completely clueless about who you are.
“I don’t know if you’re always going to be this dumb, you’re going to be a king someday. Anyway, that princess is Y/n. The Y/n” and that is all it takes to make Hendery realize that he has been flirting with his soulmate for weeks now.
From there on the prince has become bold with his gestures. Sitting with you during breaks, even flirting with you in front of your friends and his friends. Prince Hendery has the most beautiful smile you have ever seen, hair is black and soft and you bet it smells good either, he was tall but just right for your height. Not only he was perfectly handsome, but he is a gentleman too. In other words, everything about him screams prince charming.
You and prince Hendery were the talk of royal school. Everyone knew about your arrangement and the alliance of your kingdoms. You even hear people talk on the hallways that you’re literally made for each other that’s why everyone envied you.
“Let’s grow up first, okay?” Hendery says, giving you a single rose during your school’s Valentine event. A simple gesture that says there's no need to rush on being in a relationship and make everything official between the two of you but also, it was a subtle move to show everyone that you already belong to each other so there should be no competition.
You fell in love with each other from a distance, not rushing through love, taking your time, and enjoying your youth because you have a lifetime together. Although, Hendery likes reminding everyone that you’re his in the most subtle way, may it be hugging you in public, kissing your cheek before you go home, and smiling your way whenever he sees you around the school.
From freshman year until your senior year, you and Hendery waited until you’re both legal of age to finally make it official. The news was all over the TV, tabloids, articles, and magazines that you’re in love with each other. It was a cute high school sweethearts story and every day was perfect.
Senior year just started and you and Hendery decided to study together but the planned study session became a make out session, giggling and cuddling in his bed while still wearing your uniforms. The prince was looking at you, admiring your pretty face touching your features softly then suddenly he noticed that he can almost see your breast. He looked away, of course. And covered his head with one of his pillows as he groans in frustration.
“What? Why?” you asked, completely clueless. He didn’t answer you, instead, he covers your exposed skin with a small pillow. “Oh shit, I’m sorry” you apologized immediately and became shy like him too.
“It’s okay. If I’m being honest I wanted to touch you but, I knew better than that. Can we promise to be each other’s first and last?”
“You mean sex?”
“Exactly, sex”
“Only if we seal it with a kiss,” you bite back in a flirty tone, looking at his pink lips that are slowly coming closer to you. When your lips touched, you returned the kiss and swing your arms around his neck, situating him accidentally in between your legs. Skirt lifted and all. Your bodies are becoming warm in an instant and you both know you need to stop before you make wrong decisions.
“How's that for a promise? Let’s get married when we grow older and have sex every day” he bit the shell of your ear, making you giggle and laugh with him. Being this horny with each other is normal, you thought. You are both young and full of passion, and it amazes you how Hendery wanted to wait until you get married and be kings and queens.
Senior year is perfect. Every day.
Until one day, Hendery’s father died and he stopped coming to school. You hear different kinds of gossip every day. 'Is he a king now? That's why he's not coming to school?', 'School is boring for king Hendery now', 'Are they gonna be married soon?', 'Are they even ready to rule yet?'. Again, you were the talk of the nation. The headline ‘Prince Hendery left Princess Y/n’ was everywhere and you can't do anything about it. You weren’t hurt that he left everything, you were more worried because maybe he’s all alone and grieving. You wanted to ask his family but you respect their privacy.
“So he just left?” you told your grandfather everything. He just came back from his cruise around the world and you’re happy to see his visible tan lines, for sure he had a great time.
“Yep, just like that grandfather,” you walk shoulder to shoulder around the palace’s garden, looking at the flowers and harvesting some fruits.
“Well, I’m sure he had his reasons. Just stretch your patience my darling, you know what they say, love is patience” he pats your hand before picking a lemon. “Enough about the prince, I heard you are making quite an impression now. The king is beyond impressed” he was talking about your win, elected student body president. Apparently, it’s a big deal for your father, because, during his stay in royal school, he was elected as president too.
“I didn’t try too much, I think I won because of my popularity and not because of my leadership skills” you once again doubted yourself but of course, your grandfather is here to straighten you up.
“Show them you’re both. Popular and a great leader”
It was always a good talk with your grandfather, but whenever you remember that Hendery is not with you anymore it automatically makes you sad. You missed him. So much.
ACT 2
But even though you missed Hendery and it’s like he took a part of your heart and brought it with him, life goes on. You faced Senior year and showed everyone your perfect smiles like nothing is bothering you. But at night, when you’re all alone, you just can’t help but look at your pictures with Hendery on your phone and miss him.
Life goes on.
With or without your prince.
You studied day and night, kept your eyes on the prize, and busy yourself until your heart is finally healed. You waited for him of course, you waited long and hard but you can’t wait forever.
As you continue to know yourself, get involved with a lot of organizations in college, your journey has become even more thrilling when you met Lucas. He’s not royalty nor does he came from a rich family, he’s “just a man who’s brave enough to ask a princess on a date” his exact words.
Lucas is a whole new adventure to you. He’s the epitome of new things and new experiences. But your favorite thing about Lucas is, he can make you forget that you’re a princess even just for a few hours. He made you happy every day because he never forgets to tell you that being happy is the most important thing in this world. He loves you with every part of his being. And he’s ready to face your world and be with you in every step until you become queen.
“N-no I don’t want to be king. I can be your butler and still love you for all I care” he covers your naked body while you both come down from your highs. Tonight is one of those nights that you can be with Lucas without having your bodyguard. He was praising you during sex, calling you ‘princess’ or ‘my queen’ whenever he thrust and pushes you on the edge, so you asked him a stupid question if he wants to be king. “I just want to be with you, people may see me as a gold digger once the news that you have a commoner boyfriend comes out, but we both know that’s not true right?”
“Of course, not” you embraced him and apologized for the question, hiding your face on his chest. You feel his big hands caress your back to comfort you and soon plant kisses on your temple. He’s always sweet and gentle like this. If only people would see the kind of person Lucas truly is.
“But what if he comes back? What will happen to us?” he was talking about Hendery. When Lucas knew that you’re arranged to be married to Hendery, he didn’t take it lightly. He was mad but not to you. You didn’t talk for weeks and you’re both heartbroken, but Lucas realized that it's better to love you fiercely now than waste his time worrying about the future.
“I will talk to my father, don’t worry about that. Wong Yukhei don’t you trust me?” you kissed his chest to put him back in the mood and change the subject. Of course, he can’t say no to you.
After getting your degree in college, you started working for the king and queen, spearheading foundations, and knowing the kingdoms that you’re going to rule someday. Remember when you thought your parents will forget about your existence because they had your sister? Well, that didn’t happen. Your parents were proud of everything you’ve achieved and they wanted your sister to follow in your footsteps.
Slowly, you proved to them that you don’t need a king to rule this kingdom. Introducing Lucas to your parents did not go well at first but eventually, they saw that you and Lucas are happy with each other despite having different worlds.
Still, they want to keep your relationship hidden.
It’s Christmas Eve and you’re all dressed up right now, ready to shake a lot of hands and dance with a bunch of princes and dukes and god know what else but you can’t help but take care of a few things before you enjoy this night. You were signing some last minutes contracts and reading proposals when you heard a soft knock from your door, “S-sorry. Come in” you see your boyfriend dressed up in a tux, looking so handsome. He smiled at you before he enters and closed the door behind him, “well you look dashing” you put your pen down and crossed your arms.
“I’m here to pick you up your majesty, the guests are waiting downstairs and your grandfather-“
“Oh he’s here! Perfect!” you exclaimed and express your excitement upon hearing that your grandfather is here. You haven’t seen him for a very long time and you have lots of stories to tell him. “Oh shit- by the way. Lucas, uhm… Can you zip my dress, I forgot I unzip it because it was uncomfortable. Stupid ball gowns” you said, turning your back to Lucas and waiting for him to take care of your zipper. But before he zips you up, he kisses your exposed shoulders and massaged them.
“Don’t forget to have fun tonight okay? I’ll be watching you like a hawk the whole night- well actually, not you. The men that will dance with you tonight” Because Lucas has no rank or title, he can’t earn a dance with you because it’s against the conditions that your father gave.
“All done your majesty,” he says and stepped back to open the door for you.
Every Christmas Eve, throwing an extravagant ball has been your family’s tradition for centuries. It is known by royalties across the globe and this fancy Christmas party is actually part of your kingdom’s history. Different respective kings, beautiful queens, annoying princes and princesses, dukes and duchess are invited and all are here not only to have fun but also here to talk business with you.
The night goes on, dancing with a few guests before you meet and spend some time with your grandfather. You wanted to whine and complain to your assistant but she’s just doing her job so you shrugged it off. “How many more left?” you asked while waiting for the next Prince to ask to dance, two more your majesty. Your grandfather is next after this” you smiled and thanked her, giving a bow to the next prince who’s about to dance with you. And the moment you lift your head to meet his eyes, you thought you were dreaming.
For a moment you forgot proper princess etiquette and gave Hendery a tight hug, shocking everyone at your behavior but they’re even more shocked about Hendery’s appearance. ‘The son of the dead king has finally shown himself’ you hear everyone murmur around you but you don’t care. You smiled so big seeing that handsome face again. He kissed your hand and asked you to dance which you accepted gladly, now that Hendery is back and you’re all dressed up wearing your tiara, you feel like a real princess finally meeting his prince in a storybook.
“Where have you been?” you whispered to him.
“I’m sorry I left you like that, I was devastated” he whispers back as you two dance in the middle of the ballroom with the other royalties, trying so hard to hide the excitement. While you were dancing with Hendery, you remember that handsome smile that made your knees weak, his sweet gestures to prove his feelings for you, and your promises to each other.
Is it really true that first love never dies or your love for Hendery was just too strong that it never died?
When Hendery was about to hand you over to your grandfather, your father and mother came out of nowhere with your younger sister on their side. Is it because they’re happy to see Hendery too? Or are they going to press you regarding the arranged marriage again? You cling to your grandfather as you get nervous but careful not to show it. “Ah! Hendery welcome back! How was your time in the army, good?” your father exclaims. So all this time he knew where Hendery is.
“I had a hard time your highness, but I made it back in one piece” Hendery answered and made a small joke that made you all giggle and let out a small laugh. Oh you missed him.
“Hendery, I want you to meet Y/n’s younger sister” you watch him kiss your sister’s hand, “and also your future bride to be”
You were completely taken aback by what you just heard and the words that came into your head were, ‘I thought you were mine’ but you didn’t speak your mind and listened further to what your father is saying. But as you listen more, you feel like your dress was becoming tighter and tighter in every second that you can’t breathe anymore. “She will be your queen in your kingdom, and Y/n will be an independent queen here” your father explained proudly.
“But she’s too young” you pointed at your sister but you see how your sister’s eyes are sparkling. Too late. You thought. You watch her be charmed by Hendery’s visuals, that damn smile captured your sister’s heart in an instant.
“Hendery can wait until his bride is in the right age to be married, right son?”
“Of course your highness, it’s my duty” he answered confidently.
After the unexpected talk, you excused yourself, went to your room, and breathed outside on your balcony. You can’t forget your sister’s face as she looks at the man you used to kiss and you used to love. She has no idea what controversy she will face in the future, she is so young and blinded by infatuation…Or maybe you’re being like this because you’re jealous.
“Believe me I’m just as shock as you are”
A familiar voice made your heart race and your body stiffen in no time. You turned around secretly hoped that you’re wrong, but you will never forget his voice and also how his mere presence makes your heart excited. “How did you get in here?”
You hear him scoff and stood behind you, “We used to make out a lot in your room-and mine too of course. I still remember the way to your room by heart” he looked up the stars to stop himself from looking at you. You looked so beautiful tonight that he can’t stop blushing and admiring you.
You were silent. Mainly because you don’t know what to say and you’re not sure what to feel either.
“It’s going to be fine” with all his courage he tried hugging you like how he used to when you were only teenagers. But you pushed him away and stepped away from him. Hendery felt a slight pang in his heart, he never thought that you could do that to him.
“Were not together now don’t you get it? You were gone for years Hendery, a lot has changed”
“You’re hurting me, this is not our fault we love each other what's wrong with that” he reasons out, trying to lower his voice because someone might hear him.
“Loved. Past tense. My sister likes you and you are arranged to be married to her Hendery” you close your eyes as you remember what happened again earlier.
“If I have known that life will take you away from me, I shouldn’t have wasted my time and showered you with love and affection when we were young”
With a heavy heart, your first love left you in the cold night with a confused mind.
ACT 3
To make it up with your grandfather, you spend Christmas morning with him while drinking tea by the palace garden and telling him numerous stories about Lucas…and also your talk about Hendery last night.
“Don’t do something stupid that your future self with regret” he says, stirring his coffee and chewing his bread with jam. He was talking about cheating, he didn’t tell you exactly but you get it. “Did you tell your boyfriend already about what you felt upon hearing your sister’s engagement?” You shook your head and see your grandfather get disappointed but he understands that everything that’s happening now is not easy for you.
“He’s away, for now, left first thing in the morning to go to Hong Kong for his family” you felt hopeless again.
“Oh everything will be fine. I’m sure he will understand, that man is wise. I’m rooting for him” he says like Lucas is his son.
“What- really not Hendery?” you let out a laugh because your grandfather is cute.
“Nope. Now, don’t ask me why. Figure it out yourself” he winks and continues to eat his breakfast.
As days go by without Lucas, you and Hendery continue to meet each other accidentally whenever he visits your sister. You’re a busy woman, but your mind seems to have time to think whether they kissed already, hold hands, or admitted their feelings to each other if there's any.
You saw flowers on your way to your office and you thought that maybe it's for your sister, from Hendery and you can’t help but to get envious and jealous. He used to give you flowers back when you were in high school and now… he’s doing it to your sister too.
While you were reviewing proposals, you got a phone call from your personal phone and it's Lucas which you’re very excited to answer. “Hey” you singsong, putting the phone between your ear and neck while you continue to scan through papers.
“I’m sorry I haven’t been in touch, everything okay back there?”
No. You wanted to tell him that you’ve been having these weird feelings towards Hendery. “No, baby. Everything’s fine, I’m working now… As usual- how's everyone there?”
“They miss you. They wanted you to visit next year” he says, breathing deeply before he continues. “Listen, I want to stay here for a little longer. I miss them too you know-“
“And it’s fine! Baby, I understand. You’ve done so much for me already, go and be with your family” you felt guilty for caging Lucas in your country. Even though he’s the one who wanted to stay here, still. You can feel that he’s homesick sometimes.
After working in your office, you went straight to your room and purposely skipped dinner because you knew that Hendery is still here. When you opened your door, the same flowers that you thought Hendery gave to your sister is sitting on your coffee table with a small envelope that has your name on it.
Dear Y/n,
Back when we were in high school, I gave you a single rose for Valentine's day and I told you, “Let’s grow up first”
Now that we're all grown up, and still obviously madly in love with each other, I will not hold myself back from loving you. Not anymore.
I’m sorry for leaving, please give me a chance and meet me at the back of the palace at midnight. I’ll be waiting.
H.
Bold of him to think that you’re still madly in love with him. How can he say that?
You look at the letter as you grow weak and let yourself flop on your couch, face first and still undecided if you’re going. Frustrated and guilty, that’s what you’re feeling ring now. Frustrated because you don’t know what to follow, your heart or your mind. Guilty because your heart says you should go.
At the end of the day, you find yourself walking in the dark on your way to the back of the castle to meet Hendery. Hugging yourself as you cling more in your thin cardigan, trying to keep yourself warm as you feel your heartbeat faster by every second you come closer to the meeting spot. You see Hendery at the back of a thick tree, face illuminated because of his phone screen. “Oh you’re here. Sorry I was about to ring your phone” he admitted.
“Why am I here? What do you want?” You asked in the softest way possible. He saw that you’re shivering and invited you to go around the tree. There you see a blanket and small pillows and the lake was perfectly lit by the moon. What a beautiful view. And while you were admiring the view, you feel him place his jacket around you and motions you to sit on the ground with him.
“Please for once let’s pretend I didn’t leave you. I didn’t want my father to die, I didn’t expect our kingdom to suffer. And you’re the only good thing that’s left to me. So please”
You looked at him for a second that soon turned into minutes. You bit your lower lip and you remember that you weren’t mad at him for leaving, so why are you mad at him now?
Slowly, you accepted the warmth that he offered and sat close to him, sharing the blanket and keeping you close. “You’re here to hear me apologize sincerely” he gulps before he starts talking and explaining why he left, looking into your eyes so you know he’s telling you the truth. He told you that his father’s last will is for him to join the army and to be a soldier because in his father’s eyes he’s not yet ready to be a young king so he didn’t have a choice but to leave.
You were heartbroken while hearing his part. “I was never mad at you for leaving. I was worried about you”
He smiled sweetly at you. The kind of smile that makes your body warm and heart flutter, he pulled you close and you let him. “I know. Mother told me you were looking for me, but she can’t tell you anything. I told her I’m the one who should tell you someday. I’m sorry” he embraced you tightly, his cheeks resting on your shoulders. And right then and there everything is clear to you. You still have feelings for him.
“What are we gonna do now? My sister, Lucas” you asked him as you rake away strands of hair from his face.
“I’m not in love with your sister” he admitted without hesitation.
“But I love Lucas” there’s that guilty feeling again. You feel your heart breaking for Lucas, he doesn’t deserve being cheated on like this.
“I thought you were mine” he whispers. And even if it's a whisper the hurt was obvious from the sound of his voice. He didn’t see it coming. He didn’t think that this will be more complicated than he imagined.
“Funny. I thought the same thing when my father told us you're enggaged to my sister” you admitted and scoffed.
“Give me a chance to win you back. And if you're not coming back to me, just let me be with you for a little longer. I beg you”
There was a moment of silence and Hendery understands that you needed that silence to think, “Okay” you said. And saying ‘okay’ never felt so wrong. You cupped his face and tried to turn this moment around, “what's it like to be away from home?”
“Sad. I think of you every day and of course my family but they get to see me but you... not even a picture just our memories in my head”
Now that Hendery is a prince slash soldier, you remember the Nutcracker story your grandfather used to tell you for bedtime. That’s when you realized that you and Hendery are truly made for each other.
But you have Lucas...
As your night with Hendery continues and makes up for lost time, the emotional reunion turned to giggles and laughs when your time together has ended. He invited you over to his own house for a date since he can’t take you out like he used to, and reminded you that you gave him a chance to win you back, and thanked you.
On the next day, your mind was blanked. You can’t believe that you’re cheating on Lucas and have been refusing to answer his calls.
Days went on like this until you’re not awkward with Hendery anymore and you’re comfortable again around him. He showered you with love, you accept it wholeheartedly. Every day was sweet with Hendery even though you’re both aware of the future consequences but no one seems to care for now.
You go to his place and spend time with each other, whether talking the whole night and telling each other stories, him making you giggle and laugh with your legs on top of his thighs while you both sit on his couch enjoying a glass of wine or whenever you’re busy reading something or you brought a little work at his place and he can easily take your stress away by making you laugh.
Today, you came early and decided to cook for him and have dinner together. You don’t know but Hendery is leaning on the door frame of his kitchen with a flower in his hand, watching you chop some peppers in his kitchen. He felt like he finally won you back. Just seeing you hum while you prepare dinner makes his heart so happy. He then walked slowly and hugged you from behind, resting chin at the top of your shoulders, and showed you the flowers he has for you.
You smiled so big, dropping the knife on the chopping board and turning around to give him a kiss.
That’s your first kiss again.
He was shocked but you did it again. You realized he was trying so hard that he’s slowly being successful in winning you back and you’re actually scared of the future but he makes you happy.
“What? It’s not like we haven’t kissed before” you touched his lips and felt his embrace tightens every second. “Dinner in 30 minutes” you smiled and went back to finish chopping the peppers and finding a nice vase for the flowers he gave.
After dinner, a few glasses of wine, cheese, and grapes, you and Hendery are buzzed and talking about work as prince and princesses while enjoying the view from his couch. The lights are turned down low and you didn’t even notice at first but the mood has been making you horny even though your topic was stressful and your minds are clouded with alcohol. You don’t know what came into your head but you sat on his lap with lidded eyes, touching his body feeling his hard rocked abs through his white dress shirt.
He giggles and laughed at you. He’s so fucking handsome when he does that. “Seriously you have to stop you will embarrass yourself in the next morning,” he told you to stop but he fixed the way he sits and made sure you were comfortable on top of him. He teased you more, smiling so handsomely and making your heart flutter.
“I'm not that drunk just buzzed. Want me to prove it?” You challenged with a flirty tone that turns him on.
“Mhmm. Okay,” he tilts his head and waited for this proof you were saying.
“I still remember how we sealed our promises with a kiss. Like that day when we promised to be each other’s first and last” your fingers went up to his hair, ruffling his soft black hair and massaging his scalp.
You don’t know what happened but the mood changes and he’s avoiding your eyes. ”I’m sorry,” he says.
“No no don’t be, you’re here now make it up to me” you kissed his neck while he gets drunk even more because of your kisses. Your hands are placed on his neck like you’re telling him you still belong to each other, rolling your hips slowly to make him horny as much as you are.
“Did you have sex with anyone already?” his question made you stop what you’re doing to him and pulling away from the kiss to look at him, you thought he didn’t like what’s happening. But to your surprise his lips went to your neck, kissing you softly but full of lust. You feel his warm tongue just below your jaw and it felt great.
“Lucas, how about you?” You moaned out, shamefully.
Usually, his heart will hurt whenever you mention Lucas, but he’s the one kissing you now. So instead of getting hurt, he smirked. “A couple of girls. Life can be stressful I need an adult stress release. Any kinks?”
“Not that I know of? You?”
He stopped and looked at you to tell you the story. “Well remember when we were making out and I accidentally saw your breasts?” you nod at him, “I think I developed some kind of breast kink and I always imagine that I’m having sex with you instead of a stranger” he admitted and looked at you clothed breast right now. “That's how much I miss you” he placed a gentle kiss on your lips and went back to leaning comfortably on the couch. He got shy but he can’t stop looking at you.
To be honest your heart swells knowing that he desperately wants you like that. As quickly as you can, you untuck your blouse and removed it in front of the prince. “You can experience the real thing tonight “ you intertwine your hand with his and slowly placed it on your breast.
Breathing heavily. Both of you. You’re like teenagers who are just about to have sex for the first time.
He sat up to meet your lips and kiss you the way you deserved to be kissed, slowly you feel his hand travel to your back to unclasp your bra. You removed and fed his lust, revealing your breast to him for the first time. Hendery was so nervous that his hands are shaking when he removed strands of hair away from your face and held you on your shoulders, slowly he lowered your body on his and started kissing your collar bones and chest before he proceeds to your breast.
It was quiet and all he can hear is your moans and the sound of his wet kisses. You wanted to tell him that his lips feel great against your skin, and simply tell him to fuck you already. When his mouth finally reached your hard nipples and bit them softly, you parted your lips and your arms swings around him and push his head to your breast even more. You noticed he knows how to use his tongue, you figured he has been doing this to someone else for years and years while the whole truth is he always wanted to do it to you. The way he flicked his tongue brings you back to reality and when he sucks your nipples good your grip on his hair tightens and when that happens he bites your nipples again to make you shiver. This man is good.
He placed his hands just below your boob area to hold you still while he does whatever he wants to your breast. Sucking, pinching, bitting, and kneading. Everything felt good and your moans are good proof. With his strength, he got up from the couch and carried you to his room while you kiss with lust. He lay you down on his king-sized bed and kissed your body down while unbuttoning your pants and pulling them down until you’re only wearing your panties. Hendery then unbuttoned his dress shirt in between your spread legs, kneeling in front of you, stripping until he’s only wearing his boxers briefs. He situates his body on top of you grinding on your clothed private parts, hands all over each other’s body. He then went back to kissing your nipples and sucking them but little did you know Hendery is just distracting you while his hands are slowly coming down inside your panties.
With a great shock, you closed your eyes and parted your lips as you feel Hendery’s cold fingers slide up and down on your wet slit while his mouth is still sucking your nipples. It was a whirlwind of feelings, everything felt good, and seeing Hendery enjoy turns you on too. By the time you had your first orgasm, shaking and body so sensitive with swollen nipples, Hendery was kissing you softly and asking you in the most innocent way if you’re okay. The sound of his giggles makes you calm, the way he whispers soft praises beside your ear while his hands roam freely around your body. Truth is he’s genuinely happy right at this moment because he doesn’t need to imagine anymore.
He went back to kissing your body down until he reaches your wet core and licks it up and down for a while before he lines his cock. In between your widely spread legs, you watch Hendery lick you good and feel him moan from time to time. “Hendery” you called him, kneeling in between your legs in an instant, flashing his beautiful body to you. His skin is flawless, strong arms, perfect abs, and of course, fucking beautiful smile. Everything about him makes you weak right now that you just opened your legs, reach for hard cock, and line it to your entrance yourself. “Woah” he giggled and stopped you, “Okay calm down, I’ll fuck you good I promise” he pumped his cock in front of you and lines it immediately just how you want it and slowly enters you. He wasn’t big like Lucas but he kept his promise, he fucked you good.
So good that you asked for more as you grip his Egyptian cotton sheets and let your body be dragged with every hard thrust he give you.
So good that you asked him to go slower because you don’t want it to end yet.
So good that you asked him to cum inside you and asked for another round.
On your third orgasm, your hole is dripping with mixes of your cum and Hendery’s while the handsome prince is kissing your neck as you come down from your high. “I love you” he whispers but he was too late, you were sleeping soundly already, arms wrapped around his neck. He smiled and kissed you one last time before he pulls out and cleans you up.
He didn’t sleep that night, he just watched you sleep beside him. Let you cling to him in the middle of the night, watch you roll in his bed and expose your body, but of course, he’s quick to cover you again. And when the time comes, he wakes you with kisses on your shoulders, embracing you tightly and kissing you more.
“Wake up” you hear him whisper and you try to open your eyes the moment he told you so. You see his window, it was still dark so you closed your eyes again. “Want to watch the sunrise with me? You’re going to love it” he went down from his bed and opened his curtains so you can have a full view of the sky while you enjoy your comfort in his bed. You sat up and waited for him to join you again and stay warm together. Slowly, you see how the sky became pitch black to deep blue to light blue until you can see the pretty view outside his house. It was calming. He was holding your hand the whole time.
After watching the sunrise with him he fell asleep while holding your hand and you think he’s cute for having a tight grip even though he’s sleeping. While he was sleeping, it’s now your turn to admire his handsome features and watch him sleep before you start your day and make breakfast.
You hate to admit it but it looks like he has completely won you over.
“You look good in my dress shirt” he greets you good morning and kissed you on your temple while you set the table. You feel his hands in your hips, slowly coming down to your butt, and realized that you’re only wearing his dress shirt and thin panties. He still can’t believe that this is all happening, “are you real?” He whispers.
“Yes. Now come on, I have a meeting with the parliament. Need to go home and get ready” you eat some fruits as you scan your schedule for the day and there you see it and completely missed it.
Lucas went home last night. And you left your personal phone in your car. Fuck you said to yourself but didn’t show it to Hendery.
Leaving this morning became harder than you expected and you spent a total of 20 minutes kissing and flirting with Hendery before you finally open the door.
You went on with your day and made an excuse to Lucas as to why you didn’t pick him up at the airport last night. You were at your office with stacks and stacks of paper works and you weren’t even acting stressed when he came in because you were indeed stressed with everything.
“Oh baby, I’m really sorry” you greet him with a kiss and left everything on your desk. Lucas saw how stressed you are so he understood immediately and didn’t even bother asking. “You’re coming home to me tonight right? I missed you” he added and pouted like the big baby that he is.
“Uh-huh. Of course yes, I’m all yours” you smiled and he hugged you so tight before he leaves you to work again.
“Of course. You’re always mine” he said and kissed you goodbye.
The nights are cold for Hendery when Lucas got back because he can’t get a hold of you. No text, no call, no email. No nothing. And once again, he was heartbroken and he felt like he’s losing you again.
When he visited your sister a week since the last time he saw you, Hendery saw you with Lucas and didn’t even think of taking another glance. He had all these emotions ball up in his chest and he needed to release them.
“Hey, I didn’t know you were visiting today” your sister was surprised and invited him into her room. When she turned your back at him, he saw your figure in your sister. He’s back to imagining girls to be you, he’s back to that sick habit of his. But he can't help it. Effortlessly, he flirted with your sister, and surprisingly your sister was horny. Very horny for Hendery. One thing led to another and the next thing he knows he’s fucking her hard from behind kissing her shoulders and imagining that it’s you.
“What’s that noise” you murmur to Lucas while you were having a nap with him. Lucas giggled and whispered back, “I think Prince Hendery paid her a visit and... you know...” he was giggling and keeping you close to him as he went back to his nap, completely clueless that you’re hurting.
Everything that you and Hendery built from the past few days falls down when you came to his house and had your first fight.
ACT 4
“You didn’t call! Or texted that he’s already back you just left me hanging!”
“And that’s a good reason to fuck my sister?”
“It just happened!”
“Bullshit!” You shouted back. Louder than before, completely overpowering his shouts. With all his bravery, he got you a glass of water, came closer to you, and caressed your shoulders to keep you calm.
“I fucked up and I’m sorry, please,” he says sincerely.
Then you realized something.
“You don’t have to say sorry to me. It’s okay if you and my sister fucked because someday you will be married to each other. Were the ones cheating”
He listened to every word you said and begged you to take it back because he’s losing you again. When you finally said, “let’s end this Hendery. Do you want to have more fights like this in the future? What will you feel if I tell you that me and Lucas fucked last night-“
It was like thunder, disturbing the silence of his quiet house when he grabbed the glass of water and threw it in one corner.
“Exactly my point. We don’t belong to each other anymore. I’m sorry”
“Y/n. Please-“ he begged once again but you just repeated everything you said and left him.
The end.
It was the end of your story with Hendery.
But just as you thought that you’re done handling one heartbreak for the day, you’re wrong. Lucas called to tell you the news that your grandfather had a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital.
After everything that happened on that day, you never made peace with Hendery and never talked to him again. Lucas saw you at your lowest and took care of you every day after the funeral and never left your side.
Months passed by quickly and Hendery is staying in your palace as per your sister’s request and continue to ignore each other for safety. Sometimes you greet each other for formality but never as friends and as past lovers. Lucas is not stupid to not see what’s happening.
Two months before your coronation day, you were sitting on your throne with your leg up and pouting as you’re thinking if you’re really ready to be a queen. You see Lucas enter the hall but you did not move an inch. He sat on the cold floor in front of you, reaching for your hand and kiss it.
“I miss him, I wish he could see me as a queen” tears started to fall but Lucas is quick to dry them.
“He saw you as a queen already even when you were only a little girl” you understand what he said and you’re thankful for him for not leaving you at your lowest and choosing to be with you even though he found out about you and Hendery. “So... I wanted to do this, while you’re still you. And not...the queen” he says awkwardly and pulls out a small red velvet box.
But you sit properly and stopped him from opening it and saying the question that will change your life, “how can you stay to a woman who cheats?”
“Your grandfather told me love is patient. I had a meaningful talk with him, you’re right he’s wise. He told me you love me and he said if one day you do something stupid and wrong, which turns out you did... He told me ‘check your heart if you still love her, and if you still do marry her and don’t ever let her go again’"
Tears started to fall from your eyes again. “So will you marry me Y/n. Let me be the one to dry your tears forever?” He let out an awkward laugh, nervous about the next thing that will come out of your mouth.
“Yes, of course, yes” you cup his face, and this time you’re the one to dry his tears away.
Little did you know that Hendery heard everything. And he is beyond heartbroken.

Can We See Some ID?
LucasxReaderxHendery
Word Count: 6.4K
Summary/Warnings: Next installment of Club X. Smut, threesome, double penetration, anal & vaginal sex, semi-public (alleyway) sex, both Hendery and Lucas being kinda suspicious, and as always blood and sharp object play. (also oof this is the longest one I’ve written yet)
Apart of my Club X Series: Masterlist
(Recommend reading other works (especially Mark’s) but it’s not requiered)
You’d be lying if you said the atmosphere of the club hadn’t rattled you from the moment you and your friends stepped in. The lights and blaring music was enough to shake you, but the way you were swept in by your friends, first to a crowded booth, and then almost immediately to the bar almost gave you whiplash.
The amount of writhing bodies worried you a bit admittedly when you had first walked in, but something about the air, the energy that ran rapid across every square inch of the place made it feel like your brain was made of cotton. That and you hadn’t gotten to sit down for long, before the group was standing again, moving in search of drinks. And a part of you had wanted to stay in the booth with your friend and the mysterious boy that stayed back, but not only did you not want to intrude on whatever spark that was dancing between them, but it was almost like there was an invisible force pushing you away from the booth, telling you that you needed to leave that very second.
It felt like everything in Club X had been created to move at a million miles per second, and you could only somewhat push down and ignore the nagging voice in the back of your mind that told you something was off.
You smiled regardless as you leaned against the old wood of the bar, the small amount of alcohol that the bartender had provided you swam through your veins and made you feel airy.
The sweet candy-like flavor of the drink only helped to smother the voice, but it had also left you feeling woozy. Feeling like a child who had gorged themselves on too many halloween candies, you dropped the glass down onto the bar with a loud clunk and leaned away, desperately needing a breath of outside air.
You peered over the heads of the bodies that swirled around you, looking desperately for the friend who had dragged you all here in the first place. You’d feel weird just disappearing, even if it was only for a moment, without warning or letting anyone know where you had gone.
You could feel a dopey grin fill your face when you caught a glimpse of where she stood, too sloshed with varying emotions to be concerned with how foolish you may have looked.
You tripped slightly over your own feet as you moved closer to where she stood, silently scolding yourself for how funny you had let yourself feel regardless of consuming such a little amount of alcohol, but you didn’t feel drunk. No, it was something else that ran around underneath your skin and made you feel like every step you took was about an inch above the floor you moved on. Something you couldn’t really feel or see or taste, but you knew it was there as it warmed every inch of your body and turned your legs to jelly.
And it had seemed the exact same force had taken its hold on your friend, as when you reach her you have to speak her name about three times before she turns to look at you, reluctantly turning away from the eye contact that she was holding with the boy she had brought you all here to meet. Her eyes are dazed when they meet yours, in a way that you could only read as love sick, a soft smile pulled across her lips, and your briefly aware of the way one her hands is tangled with his, while his free hand is not so discreetly crawling its way under her skirt.
“Hey,” you speak softer than you had intended, a soft slowness coating your words like honey, but she seems to hear you perfectly fine when her eyebrows dart up in curiosity, “I’m gonna step out for a minute, get fresh air and maybe take a smoke.”
The way she nods is endearing, almost like a child who had just been told something that they’d consider sacred knowledge, “okay,” she pauses, the words almost visibly forming in her mind, “be safe and I have my phone so call if you need me, we’ll probably be back at the booth by the time you get back.”
“Hm, tight,” you mirror her nodding, turning towards the entrance, “love you.”
Her response of ‘love you too,’ is only a whisper as she says it at your back as you walk away.
It feels as if the bodies of the other club goers are easier to pass through as you walk to the empty entrance, as if they step away to make room for you to pass. You’re to the door much faster than it took to get to the booth, and it's almost as if the space in front of the entrance was another universe with the way that people seem to be avoiding it as if they’d get in trouble if they got too close.
If the entrance was purgatory, the outside of the club was heaven. The cool bite of the soft wind was welcomed by your heated skin. The way the atmosphere felt was such a blunt contrast you had to take a moment to adjust, a sharp inhale of air filled your lungs and your eyes fluttered closed as you wrapped your arms around yourself in a tight hold.
“Is the club that rough these days?” you jump and your eyes shoot open at the unexpected voice. Your head turns, and the moment you make eye contact with one of the bouncers, you feel your skin warm in embarrassment at being caught enjoying the fresh air a bit too much.
“Sorry,” you stutter out, stepping away from the entrance and standing on the opposite side from them, “I forgot you guys were standing out here, and it was getting a little stuffy in there.”
“You’re fine,” the other reassures, his voice has a deeper timber to it than the other man’s, and the way he leans his shoulder against the wall accentuates how long his legs are, showing that he’s also the taller of the two, “we just don’t usually see people walk out as much as they walk in.”
Your confusion makes its home on your face through your furrowed eyebrows at the way his words trail off at the end of his sentence, and the way his soft and confident smile falls as his eyes trail your body. You dart your eyes in search of the other man, hoping that you can escape the intense look in his eyes, only to find that he’s looking at you in the same way. You feel your heartbeat pick up in your chest, the feeling getting rapid enough that you can feel it in your throat. You can’t help but shift under their stares, your lips tucking between your teeth to chew on as you try to figure out what you could have said or done to make them look at you so intensely.
You introduce yourself, your name slipping past your lips in an offering before you can even think, and the sudden change in conversation seems to break them from whatever weird spell they had found themselves under as they smile in recognition.
“Lucas,” the taller man nods as a greeting before leaning towards the other man.
“Hendery,” his quiet laugh disjoints the syllables slightly, but not enough that you can’t understand, and there’s something about the knowledge of their names that warms your chest and puts you slightly at ease. You no longer feel as on edge as you did only moments before, and you can even feel your body subconsciously shifting closer to where they stood.
“Well,” you start, glancing around the empty street and picking at the cuff of your long sleeved shirt, “I don’t want to bother you two while you’re working, and I should probably be getting back to my friends.”
You feel your reluctance as you speak, not fully convinced that you want to pull yourself away from the two handsome men. Something about the way they continue to stare at you makes you feel a turning in your stomach that is a stark difference from the one you felt in the club. It’s as if you forgot the reason you came out here in the first place, as you stand there almost reveling in their attention. You have to stop yourself from jolting in excitement when Hendery speaks, stopping you from moving back through the entrance.
“Well, we’re not particularly busy,” he glances at Lucas who simply nods in agreement, “and it's usually only us two so we wouldn't mind the new face.”
You’re momentarily reminded of the fact that they had let your group of friends enter the club without asking for even one ID and you have to bite your tongue to stop yourself from reminding them of this fact when he mentions them not being busy. Instead you smile, and begin to take the handful of steps to get to where they stand.
“You got a light?” you ask as you pull a half empty pack of cigarettes from your small purse, a curious arch in your eyebrow as you silently beg for an excuse to stay.
“I do,” Lucas nods, pulling a cherry red lighter from his pants pocket, “if you’ve got one to spare?”
“Of course,” you place one of the cigarettes between your teeth before holding the box out to him. You feel your heart stutter when he leans closer and, instead of using his hand, he bites one that sticks out, putting his lips far closer to your skin then you had thought they would ever get. You tell yourself the quick wink he offers before leaning away is your imagination, and instead offer the box to Hendery, who simply shakes his head in disinterest.
You hear the spark of the lighter as you return the pack to your purse, looking back up in time to see Lucas releasing the smoke from his lungs with his head tilted back, and if you weren’t hyper aware of the way Hendery continued to devour you with his eyes, you would have probably allowed yourself to drool a bit over the way his neck stretches and his veins pop out.
“C’mere,” he slurs, the cigarette still bitten between his teeth as he nods for you to come closer.
You lean closer again, the cigarette balanced between your lips as you wait for him to light it, trying desperately to not crumble at the way the proximity forces you to stare at his warm skin illuminated by the soft orange of the flame.
He’s only centimeters away when the fire is blown out by the wind. He clicks his tongue in disappointment and tries again, only for it to face the same fate, and you can’t help but wonder why the wind hadn’t affected it when lighting his.
“Here,” Hendery speaks softly as he leans closer, his cupped hand lifting to block the end of the cigarette. Lucas hums in appreciation, and the side of Hendery’s hand brushes softly against your cheek making your eyes flutter closed as the cigarette is successfully lit.
The lighter is pulled away, as well as Hendery’s hand, making your breath quietly rush out through your nose as you lean back. Your nerves once again thud against your skin as you breathe the smoke into your lungs, the amount of time it's been since the last time you had smoke made the taste and smoke burn at the back of your throat and you're clearing your throat before it can make you cough.
“You smoke often?” Hendery asks, no trace of judgment in his tone, curious at your reaction and simply trying to build conversation as Lucas mirrored you in puffing on his cigarette.
“Nah,” you answer honestly, shaking your head softly, “it’s more of a social thing or when I get pretty stressed.”
“You stressed about something?” Lucas asks like he already knows the answer, his lips pulling into a crooked smile and the smoke spills from his lips as he speaks. His eyes widen in curiosity and Hendery lets out a soft hum in concern, and you can't help but warm at their worry about you.
“You could say that,” you nod once you pluck your own cigarette from your lips, your finger tapping on it to knock off the growing ashes, “just life I suppose, nothing major or different than what everyone deals with.”
“You know what they say is a really good stress reliever,” Hendery starts, his eyes flicking to Lucas as they exchange what you assume is a silent understanding. You hum in curiosity, shifting slightly closer to hear him.
“Sex,” the way he says it is far too casual, his tone steady as if he was recommending a new restaurant. You feel nervous laughter building up in your chest, your face warming at being scandalized, and you turn in hopes to find Lucas in the same state at his friend’s boldness, only to see him chuckling deeply in agreement.
“Yeah, what is it they’re calling it these days?” Lucas pauses, pretending to wrack his brain for an answer before grinning, “post nut clarity?”
“Yeah okay,” you huff, dropping your half finished cigarette to the ground and digging the toe of your shoe against the end to snuff out the fire, “I'll keep that in mind if I ever get the offer.”
Your sarcastic tone and attitude gets stuck in your throat when you meet their hardened stares as they burn against your skin. You can’t help but let out another nervous and confused laugh before you begin to catch on to what their dark eyes are telling you.
“You don’t mean…” you trail off, your hand lifting as you move an accusatory finger between the two of them, “are you suggesting I have sex with one of you?”
“Not one,” Lucas says quietly yet bluntly, taking his turn in shaking his head as he snuffs his cigarette against the cinder of the building he leans against, his hands slipping into the pockets of his pants as he lets his eyes trail the length of your body.
“Both of us preferably,” Hendery finishes the thought as he moves towards you, his own hand lifting to return to the side of your face and the tips of his fingers brushing against your cheek bone, making you shiver before your eyes shift back to Lucas for confirmation.
“We know you want us,” Lucas speaks so confidently it nearly knocks the wind from your chest. Your floundering for a response when he continues with unwavering sureness in his voice, “and we both want you so I don’t see why not.”
You’re standing frozen once the words are in the air, neither of the boys speaking further to let you collect your thoughts and wrap them around the offer. You’d be lying if you ever tried to claim you didn’t want them, the arousal that’s begun to bite at your lower stomach making sure you know that, and you’d be a bigger liar if you said the idea of them both having their way with you didn’t set you skin ablaze with a dangerous excitement.
“Well we can’t do it here,” the voice of reason in your mind makes you speak one last time before its smothered by Hendery’s hand that still pets at your skin and the unimpressed look Lucas throws your direction, “aren’t you on the clock?”
“We can do whatever we want,” Hendery attempts to reassure, a cocky spike in his voice that makes your stomach turn.
“We can round the corner if you want,” Lucas says, nodding his head in the direction of the alley beside the club. His eyes dart to look at Hendery, who stiffens slightly beside you, before he offers another, slightly confusing reassurance, “it's still in the perimeter of the club so we’ll be fine.”
You can’t help but feel detached from the ‘we’ he speaks about as he speaks more to Hendery, the boy in question hesitantly nodding before he turns to you, “we know you want to, so why don’t you come have some fun? No one will see you unless you want them to.”
You assume he means the shadows of the alley will protect you versus the view you’d be putting on right on the street, but something about his words hits you in the gut. The same dizzy feeling you had felt in the confines of the club were returning and you could feel your stomach tightening in anticipation. There was no doubt found anywhere in your body anymore, and you start to think that messing around with these boys in a dark alley is exactly what you’re meant to do tonight.
Before you can even form a coherent response, you dumbly nod at Lucas in agreement as Hendery starts walking towards the alley. Regardless of the want and excitement that’s building in you, you can’t help but hesitate where you stand, and with his dark eyes still glued to you, Lucas takes notice of your nerves and with a gesturing hand encourages you to follow in Hendery’s steps.
You nod once again, before you will your feet to move, the same feeling of hovering slightly above ground hits you again and you fear that the world may pass you too quickly. It’s not until you stand at the entrance of the alley, curiously watching Hendery as he leans against the wall, are you knocked into reality by Lucas gently shoving you until you're crashing into Hendery’s chest.
In your shock, your fingers wrap around the fabric of his shirt and his move to steady you by your waist. It’s hard not to get overwhelmed by how close he suddenly was, and he seems almost as shocked as you as he stares into your eyes with his eyebrows raised high.
You’re sure that you could get lost and locked into place by his eyes, if it weren’t for the feeling of Lucas’ hands grabbing you again. One of them reaches down to grab your leg at the bend of your knee and hike it around Hendery’s hip, both of you gasping at the way it presses you two against each other so suddenly.
“You two are so cute,” Lucas starts, a teasing glint to his voice, while his other hand impatiently reaches under your skirt and begins ripping the seams of your underwear until the scraps of fabric falls at your feet, “but I’ve waited too long for this for you two to start acting coy now.”
You’re only given milliseconds to try to decipher what he means by waiting for this before you feel his rough fingers gripping the hem of your shirt and shoving it up towards your chest. He catches your bralette on the way towards your collar bones, releasing your chest to the cool wind of the night and you can’t help the gasp of shock you let out at the feeling of the fabric of Hendery’s shirt brushing the pebbling skin.
Hendery’s hands slowly return to your skin from where they were knocked away by Lucas’ impatient actions, and you look at him with pleading eyes, asking silently for something you yourself are unaware of. He quietly coos at you in an attempt to calm your rapidly changing emotions, but is quickly interrupted by Lucas’ quick actions.
“You’re gonna be real good for us hm?” Lucas asks rhetorically, his blunt nails running up the back of your thighs. A shiver wracks your body at the feeling, and warmth fills your chest when you see that your response, paired with the soft pout that rests on your mouth, resparks the cocky nature Hendery had earlier. The soft smirk he wears at your already submissive nature and the dark chuckle lets out makes an evil tingling feeling run under every inch of your skin.
“Please,” the word slips from your teeth before you can even think of it, and you're curling into Hendery’s chest while tilting your hips back into Lucas’ hands before you could even consider how shameless you may look.
“Hendery,” Lucas addresses the other man, ignoring your pleads as his hand falls to softly pet at the wetness that’s beginning to collect between your legs, “we’ll need a little distracting while I get everything prepped okay?”
“Yeah,” the word comes out wrapped in a sigh before he moves on hand to grab your jaw. He shows no hesitation before his mouth molds against yours, his greedy tongue immediately pushing past your lips and swallowing your moans as his other hand moves to roll one of your sensitive nipples harshly between his finger tips.
You’re completely oblivious to the soft clicking of a cap from behind you, as you try to memorize the heat of Hendery’s mouth and taste of his tongue. You’re equally as oblivious to the reassuring warning Lucas offers, but there’s no way of ignoring the cool and thick liquid that rests on his fingers as they brush your skin from your clit to the tip of your tailbone.
You pull away from Hendery’s mouth, gasping as your head turns slightly in Lucas’ direction. The tingling feeling his fingers and the gel had left behind had you reeling and the two boys chuckle darkly in response.
“Of course you have lube,” Hendery says accusingly, yet slightly impressed.
“Why wouldn’t I?” Lucas asks rhetorically, his slick fingers returning to your body and finding their way to the entrance you hadn’t anticipated being used when they invited you to the alley, but considering you hadn’t expected being here at all, you find it hard to be surprised by anything the two of them could throw at you, “I had a feeling we’d be sharing our person and I’m not a big fan of taking turns if I’m being honest.”
You don’t get a chance to ask what he could have meant by their person before Hendery brings your mouth back to his. He swallows every whimper and whine that slips from your mouth at the cold sensation of Lucas’ fingers, and greedily laps up the pleased yet confused gasp you let out when one of his long digits presses into you. You feel your muscles relax as you melt against the both of them, the taste of Hendery’s lips and his playful fingers tugging at your skin does distract you from Lucas’ actions, yet you still find yourself surprised by how pliant you are to his explorative nature. He only moves his long finger in and out of you a few times before your eyes are rolling back at the foriegn but weirdly pleasurable feeling.
“You good baby?” Lucas’ deep voice rasps in your ear, and another cocky laugh is breathed against the shell of your ear when you nod to your best ability as you arch back into him, “you’re lucky we can do what we do, or I’m not sure you’d be enjoying this as much as you are right now.”
“You’re being too obvious don’t you think?” Hendery asks when you pull away to let out a confused hum, a slightly disappointed rumble to his voice as you move your still hungry mouth to his neck.
“What? I think they should be able to tell by now that there’s something up don’t you think?” Lucas gets more confident as he speaks while his words and unrelenting pace only works to jumble your brain further, “How the club makes them feel, the willingness to just do whatever we ask, how relaxed they are? Hell I said something about our person earlier, I'm sure they’re starting to catch up a little bit hm?”
“You have such a big mouth,” Hendery retorts, not in an insulting tone, more just stating a fact, “if you’re so confident in our abilities, how about you add another finger?”
“Gladly,” Lucas’ tone is smug and you feel your heart rate pick up at what the challenge means for you. This time you hear the telling noise of the lube being released from its bottle and feel the new wave of cool it has as it lands directly above where his finger moves inside of you. As his finger leaves your body to collect the gel, you try to remind yourself to relax, but when he moves to press two of his amazing long fingers into your body, you’re shocked at how easily they slide in. There’s still a tension there that’s impossible to ignore, but you still flounder and whine a bit at the ease he has at pulling you apart. Whatever abilities of Lucas’ that Hendery had doubted earlier, they are definitely at work on your body as you all but turn to jelly against them, but you couldn’t for the life of you wrap your mind around what could be possibly happening to you as you’re pressed between the two men.
“How about you start having your fun Hendery?” Lucas asks, taking your neglected nipple between the fingers of his own free hand and running the flat of his tongue up the skin of your neck, while his fingers gently scissor inside you, “we’ll be ready to in no time so how about you get us really started.”
The huff he lets out is transparent, the eagerness to really get started on something shining through completely as his hand falls from its place from your jaw to start to pull and tug at the waistband of his pants.
Your eyes shut at the noise of his belt being undone, and you feel your heart in your throat when you feel him pull himself from the fabric, his damp tip brushing against the skin of your thighs.
Lucas’ hand falls from your chest to grab at your thigh again, his fingers rough as they hike your leg higher onto Hendery’s hip while he continues to spread you open and Hendery slowly jerks himself off against you.
“God please,” you groan into Hendery’s neck, the feeling of Lucas’ fingers and the stickiness Hendery leaves behind on your skin has you reeling an impatient. The two men only laugh quietly at your desperation, and Lucas groans when your hips start moving on their own along with his movements.
“Get it on dude, can’t keep us waiting can you?” Lucas taunts before moving his mouth back onto your skin, hoping the challenge will get the other boy to work faster.
There’s a grumble from Hendery that rattles your chest as he starts to lose the grasp on his own patience, and as you shiver between them he starts dragging his tip against your sensitive skin.
“Hendery please,” your voice feels like thick honey as it leaves your throat, “I need it so bad please.”
Lucas hums against your neck at your pleading, and you hear Hendery let out a deep huff at your tone. There’s a moment where he shuffles his feet, adjusting his stance with his free hand wrapping around your waist, before he starts to move inside you. The feeling of him entering you, and Lucas’ still moving digits throws you off. The sudden intrusion makes your back arch as you lean back against Lucas, making them both laugh again at your reaction.
Once he’s fully inside you, he moves his hand to take over the job of holding your leg high on his hip, and Lucas takes the opportunity of a free hand to wrap it loosely around your neck.
You can already feel that you are losing yourself when Hendery starts moving, his thrust moving at the same pace as Lucas’ fingers. The fact that you’re standing in an alley out in the open completely escapes your mind as you start to moan out into the cold air.
The roughness of Hendery’s thrusts knocks your hands off his shirt, your greedy hand leaving behind stretched fabric. They flail in the air only a few moments before they latch onto the wrist of the hand Lucas has around your neck, holding on desperately and digging your nails into his skin while your eyes roll back into your skull.
Your so caught up with the feeling of Hendery moving inside you and the way Lucas’ hand interrupts the blood flow to your head that you only somewhat notice the feeling of his fingers moving inside you. You whimper at the loss of sensation, but the noises are destroyed by interrupting moans and cries.
Lucas’ teeth latch onto your jaw right above where his fingers hold you, the bite and burn of your skin and the way Hendery grunts in front of you distracts you from the sound of Lucas undoing his pants and the lube being opened again. It’s not until you feel him pressing into you from behind do you feel like you might genuinely fall apart.
Lucas’ feet shuffle a bit behind you, pressing you further into Hendery with his hand still around your neck. Hendery’s thrusts slow down when he realizes what is happening, and both boys start to coo at you in encouragement.
“You can take me hm?” Lucas asks rhetorically, as he presses only an inch inside you, the stretch much less than what you had expected, but still jarring with Hendery still stretching you out on his own. You never had expected to be as calm as you were pressed tightly between their chests, but something about their breaths and their hands kneading against your skin makes you feel like you’re exactly where you’re meant to be. Some nagging voice inside your head tells you to relax and take anything they throw at you and before you know it, you’re whining for more.
Lucas thrusts gently, adding more and more lube as he moves deeper inside you. You’re sure that you’ve never felt more full nor held in your entire life and shivers start to wrack your body as you try to shift back onto where Lucas tries to move slowly.
“Fuck, so impatient,” Hendery groans as he watches you desperately move, an air of arrogance filling the space between you, “I never thought it would be like this.”
“It’s wild huh?” Lucas asks over your shoulder, once again speaking as if you’re not between them as you deeply breath trying to collect your sanity, “fuck it feels so good.”
You and Hendery both groan in agreement, making Lucas grin into your neck, and with both of them pressed flush against you, you feel your body relaxing and going lax as you softly clench around them.
There’s a moment of pause, where their hands roam your skin as they adjust around you. Both of your legs now find their way hooked around Hendery’s hips, his arms hooked around the backs of your knees, as Lucas’ grip around your upper thighs and ass, helping to support you while also holding you spread open for him. Each of your hands grip onto their shirts as they press their chests tightly against you, and once you’ve caught your breath and gently nod at them, they begin moving.
Lucas’ hands do most of the work as they start to bounce you slightly between them, the movement forcing them to knock into you at the same pace, stuffing you full each time.
You feel your toes curling against your shoes as you flex around them. The pleasure you receive from both of them hard and warm inside you making you start to feel delirious once again. Their grunts and your moans fill the hollow space of the alley and you finally start to let yourself succumb to the pleasure.
You can feel your chest moving with their pace, your head tilting back as your jaw slowly opens. Your arousal growing and dripping around them, and with the amount of lube Lucas laid on your skin and his, you're soaking.
They stay at a moderate pace, moving you up and down slowly but pushing deep inside you every time, “you love this don’t you?” Lucas rasps in your ear making a shiver run up your spine and you only open your eyes enough to see the way Hendery watches you like you have been personally delivered to him from heaven.
“You wanna come,” it's not a question when Hendery speaks, but a statement that he’s completely confident in. You only have his attention long enough to weakly nod as they continue to move you between them before his eyes are moving to Lucas.
You can feel Lucas nod against your back before one of his hands disappears from your skin, Hendery’s arms flexing as he takes on more of your weight, his hips now moving with you to help keep you up between them.
His hand returns to your skin, once again wrapping around your neck, but this time he wears a thick metal ring on his index finger. The coolness of the material makes you flinch, but you try to ignore it. It gets harder to ignore it, when you notice a sharp chip on it start to bite into the below your jaw.
“Ow,” you let out weakly between gasping moans, the quiet noise of discontent being ignored by both of them as they continue to move inside you while the ring starts to draw blood from the shallow wound it creates.
It’s not until you feel a thick drop of blood hit your collarbone does he let up, his hand letting go and trailing down your side. It disappears once again, only for a second or two before it returns to its original place, the ring now missing from his finger.
You try to ignore the stinging pain on your neck, thinking it was just accident, already so lost in the fogginess of your mind that their heated breaths had created that it isnt hard to ignore, until Hendery speaks again.
“You first,” he nods at Lucas, his hips still moving roughly against you. You try to ignore him again, your fingers winding tighter around his shirt as you feel yourself teetering closer and closer to the edge, until Lucas is nudging your head to the side, “touch yourself for us baby, we wanna see you come.”
You let go of his shirt hesitantly, reaching down between your bodies in search of your neglected clit, when you feel Lucas’ lips latch around the burning wound on your neck. His full lips suck harshly against the skin, pulling your thickened blood into his mouth as your hand jerks in shock. You’re not sure why, but the shock of pain that runs down the side of your neck causes a new wave of arousal over your body, and in your desperation, your fingers move to roll fast circle over your clit.
Lucas pulls away after getting his fill of your sweetened blood, his tongue laving over the wound as the blood continues to spill in a steady stream down your neck.
If you weren’t pushed close enough to your finish from Lucas’ mouth, you get even closer when Hendery leans closer and takes his place. His mouth is even more eager than Lucas’, his more hyper energy showing through his mouth as he sloppily licks at the broken skin.
His mouth follows you as you continue to be roughly bounced between them, their unrelenting pace and their biting mouths combined with your own hand that seems to be possessed by some restless demon as it moves against your clit, finally pushes you over the edge you had been so dangerously dancing on.
You loudly gasp when your orgasm hits. Your legs violently shaking in their holds as you come and clench around them. It’s like a sharp electricity shoots around under your skin and you only hear them groan darkly in response.
You can’t seem to rip your own hand away, forcing you to push yourself through your own orgasm as they continue to fuck you full. You had never imagined you could possibly feel more full than you did until you feel their hands tighten and you hear the animalistic growls they let out while they start to come inside you.
Their come is thick as it fills you, and they continue to fuck you on them, shoving the evidence of their orgasms deep in you. Aftershocks wrack all three of you as it seems there’s a malevolent evil that wraps around you making it impossible to rip yourselves away from each other.
It’s Hendery who loses his footing first, his orgasm weakening his hold on you as he claws at your skin. He hesitates long enough to allow Lucas to wrap his arms around your waist, holding you tight against him as he stays deep inside you, finally allowing Hendery to drop your legs and detach his mouth from your skin as he leans back against the cold building.
Lucas pulls out as Hendery fixes his pants, his hands kneading your tensed muscles as you try to find your strength to stand on your own two feet. You can only imagine how much you three look like newborn deer as you all stumble around the alley, but with Lucas’ remaining strength he helps you stand and begins to adjust your clothing.
Once your top and skirt are in their rightful place, he passes you off to Hendery who holds you tightly against his chest. You both watch with widened eyes as Lucas pushes himself back into the fabric of his pants and you curl against his form, suddenly desperate for the physical reassurance.
There’s another moment of calm where you three look at each other intently. The only true evidence of what conspired amongst you being the stream of their combined come that rolls down the inside of your thighs. You want to cringe at the feeling, but you hatefully admit to yourself that there’s a gross sense of calm the feeling brings to you as you stand there.
“We have to get cleaned up huh?” Lucas is first to break the silence as he moves closer to the two of you. His fingers brush against the skin of your neck as he stares into your eyes, before he’s returning his attention to Hendery, “do y’think scary boss man will let us go back to our room to get back to normal.”
“We’ll have to ask,” he responds looking down at you with caution, “you know how he gets about the first time.”
“Yeah I do, but I like to think our first time is a little bit of a special case,” his eye return to you, an unexpected softness held behind them as he moves his thumb to tap against the tip of your nose, “but after that we have to get you back to your friends. Can’t break more than one rule tonight.”

Is it just me or would Hendery of WayV have an absolute blast with a exhibition kink? Like being one of the younger and sassy members of WayV I definitely see him being like "don't hold back your noises baby boy/girl I want the others to hear how good I treat you"
Help I've fallen down a rabbit hole
I could see this in certain circumstances. I think generally he would be a bit horrified even thinking about someone seeing/hearing him have sex, but if he feels like he has something to prove orrr he's unbearably horny, I think all bets would be off then.
Like you'd be hanging out with him and the boys and Yangyang was fucking with Hendery a little too much and a little too personally that day and it was starting to piss him off. He'd just take it for a while, sitting there with his arms crossed and his jaw tensed trying his hardest to not be affected by anything being said but he would draw the line when you got brought into it. "I don't know what you see in him, y/n," Yangyang would tease while laughing. Not funny to Hendery. Not when he's already taken so much.
Hendery would be off the couch, pulling you behind him to the next room. You'd noticed he was getting mad when he wasn't laughing or talking as much because that's unlike him, but you weren't expecting him to lift you onto the nearest surface and start tearing at the clothes separating your bodies. You'd rarely see him like this, impatient and brusque. He would still be gauging you as his hands were warming you up for him, making sure you were okay with what was happening, but once he knew you were on board, he wouldn't waste another second.
He'd bottom out inside of you with one thrust, relishing in the shrill cry you weren't prepared to stop. He'd kiss your forehead to remind you that he loves you and then he would be fucking you completely dumb. He'd adopt a brutal pace immediately, his hand tangled in the back of your hair to support both you and him. He wouldn't bother silencing his animalistic grunting and he would instruct you to let every pretty sound fly. "Let him hear you, baby," he'd seethe. He wouldn't need to specify which he.
He would be more and more satisfied with himself the less you were able to control yourself, just smirking his ass off as you whimper, moan, swear, cry his name. "You're so perfect," he'd whisper when he felt you tightening around him, the all-too-perfect sign that you were enjoying putting on a show as much as he was. Just knowing that about you would make him lose it, snapping his hips (even more harshly somehow) until he felt you cumming around him. He'd release both his cum and his frustration inside of you and he'd be brand new.
It would take him a few minutes to compose himself after how much physical energy he was exerting. Sweaty, out of breath, mind hazy. But his bright eyes and smile would return like he was never mad in the first place. He'd give you the gentlest kiss ever to contrast his less-than-precious approach with you minutes before. He'd clean you up (bonus points if he could find a clean piece of Yangyang's clothing to use) and make sure you were stable physically and emotionally before exiting the room. Then he'd walk around like nothing happened, not even acknowledging Yangyang. Not even if he was gawking at him.

WAYV AS HOGWARTS STUDENTS
QIAN KUN
ravenclaw , head boy, muggleborn
excels in every class he takes
when he first discovered he was magic, he flipped out
he had a matilda episode in his room one night
he was staring intently at his toy planes, wondering how it would be like to fly one someday
then suddenly it just?? levitated??
as an eight year old, he did the only thing he could do in such situations—scream bloody murder
first year : in his newly pressed robes and neatly gelled hair, sat at an empty compartment and started reading his textbooks
until the compartment door opened and a cat just walked over him
“oh sorry, leon doesn’t behave very well” says ten who he did not think would stick around but guess what? his cats liked him
being sorted into ravenclaw, he quickly became famous for being the smartest and wittiest most sensible? wizard of his year
he was especially great at charms got so surprised that there was an incantation to make things float, since all he has been doing is just think it (flitwick got a shock at his first year doing wandless magic)
as he grew older, almost everyone depended on him for help in everything
he couldn’t go a day walking in the corridors without someone asking to meet up at the library or thanking him because they aced their tests
but of course, this little ravenclaw had a limit
he didn’t mean to, but one day he just snapped at a poor gryffindor who kept bugging him to meet at the courtyard to practice spells (everyone finally left him alone, too scared to face the wrath of a wizard who knows all the spells for duelling)
OWLS year—the most memorable year for him, as he and ten spent nights in the library (and sometimes in the kitchen but if anyone asks only ten was in there) studying their bums off
that summer, ten just received a holler from him (surprise! he got all o’s)
naturally, he had been picked for prefect and head boy
the first years LOVED him
he taught them all the secrets to their tower and even handed them a parchment full of riddle answers, because let’s be real, even though you’re a ravenclaw doesn’t necessarily mean you want to use your head all the time
eats at the hufflepuff table because they have better breakfast items
adopted a whole assortment of kids with ten (winwin kinda just sticked around because yangyang was his buddy)
would be the boys’ go to— from pesky spells, ink blotts on their robes, th right grams for mandrake powder, they all depended on him for it
hendery was once asked why he wasn’t scared of him (knowing what happened before)
“he’s not dumb enough to duel someone because they’re bugging him. that’s why he’s in ravenclaw”
overall 9/10. minus one point because he still feels the need to get the last remark in everything.
LI YONGQIN
hufflepuff, pureblood
loves hanging out at the common room
doesn't really care much for grades, but does his best when studying
his housemates call him a sloth
moves so slow, especially in the mornings
likes taking walks along the corridors because it's fun to see other students rush and run to their classes while he walks a leisurely pace
always has his tie loosened
sometimes, he doesn't even tie it, he just wraps it around his collar and hope no one notices everyone does
has a talent for transfiguration
will turn anything into cat snacks
he once turned his homework in kibble and his excuse was "my cat ate it"
befriends all the cats in hogwarts
sometimes he lays down at the courtyard and they all just gather around him
one legendary moment (as lucas likes to call it) was when he was walking down the corrider and a train of cats just followed behind him in a single file
sweet wizard boy, befriends humans as well
he's so likeable, everyone just feels drawn to him
has this laidback energy that feels like a breath of fresh air when things get hectic in the castle
speaking of fresh air
he likes to stroll around outside, most of the time dragging yangyang and winwin out with him
"winwin could use the fresh air and your voice doesn't echo" - ten to yangyang
his sister is friends with yangyang's sister, so growing up he kind of babysat the three whenever their families would be together
he didn't imagine that it would continue during school, but poor winwin looked like he just wanted to get his head bitten off
despite having a lot of friends, he sticks with kun most of the time because he's not as chatty when he's focused (and kun is focused all the time so)
his favourite thing to do anywhere is lay down on his back and play with his wand, sending wisps of magic swirling around in the air, creating beautiful artwork
received pencils and a notebook from kun so he could just draw because "your magic might hit someone and i do not want to be involved with any of that"
doodles all the time
he likes to draw butterflies and magic them off of the paper and makes them follow his friends around
doesn't really say much when no one's talking to him, but will keep the conversation going casually
wanted to become a prefect so he could have his own bathroom
would patrol around at night with his cats (hendery jokes how he looks like filch and now he takes his filch impersonation seriously)
when catching students, he makes obvious remarks like "oh wow good to know that there aren't any gryffindors in this corridor! it would be an awful hassle to report them. good thing everyone's in their chambers!"
very lenient on students he doesn't know, but will threaten those he does and ask for something in return
accidentally gave yangyang the idea of becoming a prefect so he needn't have to worry at night
also accidentally gives yangyang dare ideas to give to hendery
he doesn't mean it! most of the time
overall 10/10. everything is cancelled out by the fact that he goes around the castle with atleast 2 cats following him around.
DONG SICHENG
slytherin, pureblood
mr frowns-a-lot, mr don’t-talk-to-me, mr i-want-to-go-back-to-my-dorm
the most stereotyped slytherin
first years believe that slytherins are scary because of him (but they immediately get debunked by hendery “you’re scared of a tall dude who gets tired from talking and likes to eat chocolate? yeah okay”)
but yes this not so little bean finds talking draining
it’s not that he doesn’t want to, but why would he have to talk about his day when as far as he knows, everyone just did the same thing he did??
you can barely get a sentence out of him
will reply with nods or shrugs and just point or look at things
only talks during class when the professors ask him questions
yangyang bugs him the most
when he got assigned to take care of this chatty, full of energy first year he almost cried
ended up just following him around and yanking the back of his robes to stop him from getting into trouble
because of this, yangyang’s friend are his friends
first got introduced to xiaojun, lucas, and hendery
ended up becoming a babysitter for four
when he met ten, he almost cried again, but now out of happiness because he got yangyang to shut up
met kun last, and immediately took a liking to him for no reason at all
no one knows how, but suddenly mr-i-dont-want-to-do-anything started getting more mischievous and talkative
the whole hall got surprised when he laughed at lucas’ lame joke
this may be an exaggeration but the boy doesn’t even smile
after this incident, lucas just kept talking to him and he just kept replying, and pretty soon the four little troublemakers would joke around with him and he’d just sit back with kun and ten when he got too tired
this made him attractive
but unlike lucas who got confessed to everyday, there was no one who confessed to him
he didn’t really talk to anyone else and just minded his own business when he was alone, so everyone was too scared to confess to him
which is a huge relief to him because the not so little bean is actually very awkward
proven when hendery accepted yangyang’s dare of going right up in winwin’s face omygod when i tell you his whole face turned red
he avoided hendery for a week until he realized it was too hard since they have most of their classes together??
speaking of classes, it’s a miracle how he just passes everything since no one actually ever sees him studying or doing homework
it’s like everything he does is magic well
overall 7/10. doesn’t really try that much and will only voluntarily hang out with kun.
HUANG XUXI
hufflepuff, halfblood
was tiny, like a little bug
no one knows when he got so tall (summer of second year, he had to buy new robes for third year because they were already too short)
spends breakfast half awake, focusing on eating his meal and listening to yangyang complain about how hard his transfiguration classes yesterday were
he’s never around for dinner because he’s always at the pitch and no one has the energy to talk to yangyang in the mornings so he’s the poor guy
everyone loves him, no one can find a single thing to hate about him even if they tried
loves care for magical creatures with hagrid (he measures his height with the half-giant)
other classes? not so much
sure he tried a little bit, but why would he need to transfigure something into a pen when he could just look for one, and why would he need to concoct a drowsiness potion if he can just will himself to sleep
speaking of sleep, he does that a lot
he likes to wait for xiaojun during fourth period because they had arithmancy next, and he would lean against the corridor and sleep
learned how to sleep hunched over so it looked like he was focusing on class (begs whoever he’s sitting with to wake him up)
why does he do this?
“i’m saving up my energy for later”
he’s a quidditch beast
part of the quidditch team, originally tried out for seeker but they realized he couldn’t go fast enough without loosing his balance on his broom
he switched to being a beater, which the team found out he was very good at aha great power comes with great biceps
everyone falls in love with him when he’s on the pitch
he looks big and scary and ultra focused
and they realized after 3 games that he focuses so much because he aims the bludger to hit the player’s upper thigh only (this prevents player from taking a fall and just bruise, not break a bone)
once he accidentally sent his bludger flying too hard and knocked the chaser off, but he was faster than the seeker and caught them (followed the poor chaser for a week saying sorry and giving them semi burnt cookies he made with xiaojun)
gets confessed to every other day and just says “thanks”
but why don’t you ever reject them?
why deny that i’m handsome?
that makes no sense
as with rejecting them!
but truly is an angel
he even got winwin to actually converse with him
he makes everyone feel comfortable, talks to everyone and just hangs around when they don’t want to, offering company
overall 10/10. his cockiness about his looks just makes him endearing since everyone knows he can’t break someone’s heart.
XIAO DEJUN
ravenclaw, halfblood
kun’s reincarnation
but there’s one problem
he’s still immature
you would think he’s the prime example of a ravenclaw
practices his passions all the time
likes doing brain-productive things
reads about anything he finds interesting
goes in and out of their tower because he thinks solving the riddles is fun
but ho ho ho oh oh no
he’s a little devil
makes snarky comebacks under his breath that takes a little bit for you to understand
makes things harder on purpose just for fun and because he’ll be the only one able to do it
has a joke for EVERYTHING and never repeats them so i guess he can get away with that
he’s a little menace to the society but he can get away with it because it’s all just minor inconveniences
but we all know minor inconveniences are the most annoying things
likes to annoy kun the most because he understands and reacts immediately
doesn’t like to annoy the hufflepuffs because they just smile at him in confusion
despite that, he’s also a little sweetheart
remembers everything his friends say, so he’s always there to remind them
reminds kun about a test he has to retake, ten about his changing patrolling schedule, winwin’s meeting with a professor, lucas’ need to polish his broom after dinner, hendery’s homework, and yangyang about that incoming howler from his parents
when he realized he’s such a great asset, he became a bit nosy too
likes to meddle with all of his friends’ business
so if someone wants to find any of the six, he can tell you a vague description where they are
because of course he’s not gonna tell you lucas is by the lake practicing his swinging, he’s gonna tell you he’s brushing up on his quidditch skills so you’d go running to the pitch
this way he’s not technically doing anything wrong to both parties
one day, kun asks why he likes doing this
“it makes me feel like a king maker. feeding things into their tiny brains and knowing exactly what they’ll be doing”
“that’s not exactly what a king maker does”
“yeah but does it look like i want them to be more powerful than me?”
co-parents a dog with lucas
aka lucas asked him to take care of bella while he’s in practice but he forgot to take her back with him for 2 days so now bella thinks she lives in the ravenclaw tower too
does random errands for his friends as a way of apologizing (but really just as a leverage so he can cause more trouble)
his ultimate goal was to brainwash everyone so they couldn’t live without him and he succeeded????
now they’re the receiving end of all the sermons his professors give him (you wouldn’t expect it, but he causes quite a ruckus in class)
but still, at the end of the day, they choose to sit next to him at the ravenclaw table during dinner
overall 7/10. he’s annoying, but he’s good at everything he does and helps his friends out in different ways. which makes him more annoying because why? why not
HUANG GUANHENG
gryffindor, muggleborn
does not understand magic. like at all
the only reason he’s still managing is because he refuses to be beaten by xiaojun
he doesn’t know why he’s in gryffindor but anyone who’s ever met him can vouch for the sorting hat
he’s courageous in the way he faces learning magic (it won’t hurt me, i’m magic) he's brave to speak up to anyone and ask for help when he needs it, and most of all, he has the nerve to get right into winwin’s face
surprisingly good at harder spells than that of his year level, so he’s in a few higher level classes
the reason being he wants to save face when with upperclassmen so he actually focuses real hard and actually understands
because when he’s with his friends, his mind goes wandering and he can’t focus his magic
a very strange wizard indeed
imagine getting help from xiaojun to levitate a piece of parchment but can explain to ten how to brew an advanced potion
he’s very confident in his abilities
why would he be nervous to stay after curfew??
if filch catches you
then don’t i just have to avoid him??
but has realistic fears
will not go near a broom
yeah okay the broom can fly, but can he?? he can’t even levitate a piece of parchment, how can he levitate himself?
also very practical
lucas kept struggling since he kept spilling his ink pot so he handed him a pen
“dude i forgot these existed!” “who writes with feathers??”
the most laid back yet extra ordinary wizard ever
you can start a conversation with him and he can keep it going for hours on end
very friendly, will talk to anyone but the downside to this is that he talks to everyone like they’re his friends asdkjshjkd even mcgonagall
overall 7/10. uses magic to solve trivial muggle things and still makes bets with yangyang up to this day.
LIU YANGYANG
slytherin, pureblood
a force to be reckoned with
spend a day with him and your ears will bleed
why?? does?? he?? talk?? so?? much??
his friends always complain but everyone else in the castle can’t see why
in the eyes of a stranger, he’s actually cold and reserved, hard to approach
but if you actually knew him
oh boy you’d want to not
can talk for hours
he and hendery wanted to know just how long he could talk
so they timed it
talked for 9 hours straight, no one knows how they managed
good thing this talking is actually useful
he likes to recite during class, always has a lengthy explanation for his answers
people aren’t the only one he talks to
he talks to the ghosts and to the paintings, greeting them a lovely day or whatever
besides talking, he also has another passion–quidditch
he plays as chaser for his house, often times taking his time to freshen up, so he goes back at about midnight during thursdays
good thing ten patrols during thursdays
speaking of ten, he’s been a brother figure for him all his life
so when he was introduced to winwin, he got so excited because he had another brother
by the end of the night, fourth year winwin knew everything about first year yangyang
he loooves his buddy
tries to do everything with winwin but he doesn’t let him
despite being too much to handle, winwin actually likes him too (but don’t let yangyang know)
likes to do dumb dares with hendery
isn’t really into pranking and getting all up into other’s business, so they manage their mischief between the two of them
and the whole of hogwarts just enjoys and guesses which of the two would be the one running around the great hall in their pajamas
yangyang actually encourages his fellow slytherins to stop sticking among themselves
mostly because he’s tired of them bugging him to “go ask your gryffindor friend if there’s homework on-”
at the end of the day, all his slytherin friends have been adopted by ten, took a liking to kun, and watches lucas, xiaojun and hendery fool around for entertainment
that being said, he loves his friends
thankful that he has classes with at least one of them for all his classes
all his professors have learned to sit him next to them, otherwise he’ll just slack off and stare into oblivion
he’s actually more productive when he has someone to remind him to be
okay maybe sitting him next to hendery wouldn’t result to school productivity
overall 9/10. it would be an 8 but he actually does acknowledge he talks too much.
